Thoughts on Prayer by T.O.D.

Johnston To ask anything of God in the Name of Jesus, we must only ask what Jesus would. We ask as His re resentati!e if we ask in His Name. This, therefore, is following "hrist#s e$am le, asking for God#s will, not our own. Prayer should be more than an indi!idual a%t. &t should be a %onstant attitude of de enden%y u on God. Prayer a%knowledges weakness, inability, inse%urity in us. This is o osite of di%tating our desires to God. We must be submissi!e to God#s will, and His means. We must a%%e t that the 'ord will su ly our need a%%ording to His own so!ereign design. &t is !anity for a erson to dire%t the (lmighty as to what He ought to do. (s if any erson knows better or more than God or %ould dire%t God#s a%tions. )u%h are like an arrogant and unruly %hild bossing e!eryone around. God#s will is what will %ome to ass. (s belie!ers we are in His will in "hrist. Our li!es then must be%ome more and more like His, whi%h in%ludes a %onstant attitude of rayer, %ommuni%ation with the *ather+ that our ath is straight, and in the best ossible light, our ste s guide and our ,ourney %ertain, our destination guaranteed unto eternity at home with Him and the *ather. They will be with us and see us through e!erything in this world a%%ording to the erfe%t will of God. Therefore our rayers trust His %onstant and lo!ing %are, that He knows what is best for us, and what He will ro!ide. htt -..www. aranba tist%hur%h.%om htt -..biblestudylessons df.%om
