Desired Outcomes: The team will: Create norms, assign roles, and team-build with colleagues Continue to gain knowledge about PBIS through observation, networking, and training Have time to establish work groups, problem solve, and action plan for next steps
Desired Outcomes Visit an Exemplar School to learn about their successful PBIS implementation and gain new ideas/perspective on things How School visit to Swift Creel ES: 8:45-9:10 meet with chair 9:10-9:30 observe start of school day 9:30-10:15 school walk-through (see document) Review Designate Create Discuss Destination of teams choice; please take some time to reflect upon and share thoughts from school visit Review via Jigsaw by team: We broke up into groups to review powerpoints and then share them with the group. PBIS Overview- Data driven, positive, hopefully it will bring about a climate change at our school, changes in behavior go along with changes in academics , EVERYONE needs to be on the same page, total staff commitment, 3-5 year process (OCE is in the baby stages ) School Matrix creating the vision, setting school wide expectations (aligned with the mission statement), teaching faculty/students/families, developing matrix of expectations, what are the specific settings that you are focusing on, training and practice Expectations Taught/ Recognition System- the habit of following steps consistently, minimizes anxiety-maximizes consistency, everyone knows what is expected of them, increase likelihood that adults will buy in and respond positively, focus attention on the desired outcomes, we ALL need positive reinforcement, the system needs to be a FIT FOR EACH SCHOOL, keep it simple, reinforcement can be different and does not need to be monetary New Material from Daniel: PowerPoint and activities TEAM DEVELOPED The team brings energy and enthusiasm for PBIS Create action steps that WILL BE developed Implementation is only as strong as the team Parent/PTA member who is at the beginning of the

They never have the chance to meet.
