Wonderful World of Weebly

Weebly is our class website. You can find it at http:// lewislagoon.weebly.com/ . Through this site you can keep track of our daily class activities by viewing pictures I will be posting of the projects and activities we did that week. I will do my very best to post pictures every Friday. On our class website you can also find links to our class schedule, Monthly calendar, Holiday events and activities, supplies needed, volunteer signup sheet, you can email me directly through the website and you can find links to helpful sites and assignments that I have posted for the students. An updated newsletter will be available for you to read at the beginning of each month.

Virtual Classroom through Edmodo

Edmodo is the web site your children will be using to interact with me and their classmates. I will be posting daily assignments and plans for that day. Each student has the ability to email me and also email any of their classmates to ask questions and seek help. This is a great way for them to get to know their classmates and not be afraid to ask a question. The students will be required to check edmodo daily and turn in any assignments through the Edmodo site. The students will be able to keep track of what we do in class and their grades through this site. They can personalize their edmodo page with a picture, favorite quote and goals they have for this class.

Video Creations with Animoto

Animoto is an awesome video making site. It allows you to create a 30 second video by picking a pre-made theme and adding your own pictures, video clips, colorful fonts and even songs! I will be using this program a lot to captivate the students and get them involved with what we are working on. Your child will be making an Animoto video relating the sea life unit that we will be doing this year. They will pick their favorite sea life animal and create a video to share with their classmates. I cant wait to see what their imaginations come up with!

PREZIntations
Prezi is a presentation program that enhances any electronic presentation. Instead of the typical Power point, Prezi allows you to add videos, pictures, diagrams, drawings and much more. You have the ability to move around and scroll in and out throughout the presentation and you can customize your theme, fonts and colors. Prezi is a program we will be using a lot in this class and the students will be required to create their own Prezi this year. This is a way I get the students involved with their assignments and information we are learning and let them teach their classmates about something that interest them. You can find a Prezi that was made by me on our class website to get familiar with all the fun things you can do with a Prezi.
