GLOBAL WARMING

By Nor Suhada bt Ab Manaf

What is global warming?

the increase in the average temperature of Earth's near-surface air and oceans An increase in the earth's temperature resulting from the accumulation of carbon dioxide and water vapor in the atmosphere. Excess amounts of these gases trap heat in the upper atmosphere and reflect it back to earth

an increase in the average temperature of the earth's atmosphere

Statistics

Information
The concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has risen from 290 (ppm - parts per million) in 1900 to nearly 400 ppm. The multinational Arctic Climate Impact Assessment (ACIA) report concludes that in Alaska, western Canada, and eastern Russia, average temperatures have increased as much as 4 to 7 degrees Fahrenheit (3 to 4 degrees Celsius) in the past 50 years.

Over the last century the earth has warmed approximately 1 degree Fahrenheit
