1:1 Digital Device Initiative

Goal of the Process

The purpose of this plan is to evaluate digital devices and develop a consensus on which device to lease for a possible 1:1 digital device implementation in 2015-2016.

Phase One (Spring 2014)

Each building would select four Technology Integration Innovators (early adopters) through an application process. These teachers would receive an iPad2 and Chromebook to support technology integration in their classrooms. To further support this process, additional carts of devices would be added to each building.

Application Process (Due Friday)

PART ONE:
Name Job Description Building

PART TWO:
Write a short summary of your role as an innovator in your building. Please include specific examples from your work with students and staff. Write a short summary of your experience working with both iPads and Chromebooks/laptops.

Phase Two (2014-2015)

All staff would receive a digital device to support technology integration in their classrooms. Half of the staff would receive an iPad2 and half would receive a Chromebook. Staff would rotate devices at semester. To further support this process, additional devices would be added to each building on a cart system and would be available for checkout to all staff.

Phase Three (2015-2016)

Based on feedback from staff and Technology Committee, a digital device will be recommended for a possible 1:1 digital device implementation for all or a portion of Jordan students.
