RUNNING HEAD SOCIAL SERVICES INTASC Standard, Description and Rationale Standard #3 Learning Environments The teacher works with others to create environments that support individual and collaborative learning and that encourage positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and selfmotivation.

Brief Description: For this assignment I researched and found information on different Social Service organizations which can help children or adolescents. Knowing of these organizations and what they do could potentially help me seek one for any child or adolescent in need of help. Whether being a teacher or just a bystander, having the knowledge of social service programs can help adolescents find a safe place to go.

Rationale: To document my understanding of standard #3 learning environment I researched different social service organizations. In relation to learning environments knowing these organizations can help me work with others to support the individual and collaborate good learning methods to encourage positive social interaction. This document will help find good places to help the children receive the correct learning and growing environments which will help them in self-learning and active engagement in learning.

(Chaucies Place) Chaucies Place is a great service which provides care and love to children who could be victims of physical or sexual abuse from their parents. Boys and Girls Club Phone: (317) 773-4372 Address: 1448 Conner Street Noblesville, IN The Boys and Girls Club in Noblesville has about 600 children who utilize school programs

along with about 260 who learn character and leadership skills. They operate on a limited budget and also provide a high-quality, low-cost programs for youth members with the help of donors and sponsors. (Boys and Girls Club of Noblesville) The Boys and Girls club doesnt necessarily focus around children who have been abused, they also stop when the child reaches grade 12. Adoption Support Center Phone: (317) 255-5916 Address: 6331 Carroliton Ave, Indianapolis This is a safe, friendly place where you can talk honestly about anything you are facing. (Adoption Support Center) The Adoption Support Center in Indiana helps not only with mothers that are looking for their child to be adopted or for mothers who are looking to adopt a baby. Mothers can also place the child in foster care for a temporary living environment for the child if they are not capable of providing but still want to take care of the child later. They offer a free adoption coordination and support all day for anyone who would want to take part in adoption through this center. (Adoption Support Center)
