TherewillbethreeopportunitiestomakebowlsontheMUWcampusfortheEmptyBowlsforHungerevent,whichishostedby theMUWDepartmentofArtandDesign,theMUWCulinaryArtsInstituteandtheShopsatBrickerton. ColumbusHighSchoolBowlMakingDaywillbeonSaturday,Oct.10,at10a.m.SarahOswaltwillbebringing20highschool artstudentstoMUWtogetinstructionsonmakingceramicbowlsfromProfessorAlisaHolen.OswaltisateacheratColumbus Highanda2005MUWalumnus. Thecommunitywillhaveachancetomakebowlsusingthepotterswheel,moldsorcoilandslab.Someinstructionwillbe providedbyHolenandAllisonCole,a2009MUWgraduate.ThiswilltakeplaceonFriday,Oct.16,from5p.m.to10p.m.and Saturday,Oct.17,from10a.m.to4p.m. MUWfacultywillgetsomeinstructionfromHolenonwheelthrowing,handbuilding,andusingmolds.Thiswilltakeplace Thursday,Oct.22,from4p.m.to8p.m. Participantswillmakethebowlsinroom100oftheMUWArtandDesignBuilding. AllbowlsmadewillbesoldattheEmptyBowlsforHungereventonSaturday,Nov.7,onthefrontlawnattheShopsat Brickerton.AllproceedswillgotoLoavesandFisheshereinColumbusandGlobalConnections,anorganizationthat alleviateshungerandbringsotherrelieftothepeopleofAfrica.
