Directions: Your Professional Development Plan (PDP) serves as a guide toward continuous improvement during your teacher preparation program. List specific competencies, skills and dispositions you would like to improve on this form, using input from FEAP evaluation reviewed with your mentor teacher, feedback from your faculty steward, and other sources you deem reliable. What do I want to improve? (list specific improvement goals) I want to improve my time management skills in the classroom so that I do not overcompensate or run out of time for my lessons. How will I achieve this? (list specific steps you will take) 1. I will create a timed schedule for my day that I will always keep nearby in order to stay on track and on time with my lessons. 2. On the computer or with a stopwatch, I will set up a timer that will count backwards with certain time limits in order to pace my lessons so they do not go over or under my designated time limit. 3. I will practice presenting the lesson ahead of time and record or time myself in order to determine if I need to pick up the pace of my teaching or slow down. 1. Before instruction for each of my lessons, I will spend time and prepare a teacher script so that I will know exactly what to say to my students during the lesson. 2. I will create notes for my various curriculum When will I achieve this?

I want to improve my preparation time before lessons so that I can be completely prepared for each question and student answer throughout my teaching.

How will I achieve this? (list specific steps you will take) teacher edition books and work through the questions within each to see if the book has correct answers or if I can come up with several possible answers to the questions that students will need to answer. 3. I will conduct research online to see if there are different ways to teach my lessons and if there are any creative projects I can add to my lesson plans. 1. I will research previous text books and online articles in order to use the various different classroom management strategies to pull from and make my own personal plan to fit my classroom. 2. I will either hand-write or type my classroom management plan so that I can follow it correctly or make any changes so that I can keep order in my classroom. 3. I will make sure to create and scaffold my classroom management plan in order to meet the needs of my students and I will take into consideration behavior changes within my classroom and with every student.

When will I achieve this?

I want to improve my classroom management as whole and work on a plan that will best fit my future classroom.
