Child: Manha Date: 21/3/2014 Written by: Natasha This morning I asked if you would like to go for a walk

to collect some white roses for group time. Gracefully you nodded as a quiet yes was heard. You choose the blue scissors and we gave a pair to our friend Leena. At group time you proudly shared with the children how yourself and Leena had collected these to share with the group. I talked to the group, explaining the parts of the flower with a focus on stem, petal and leaf. We talked about how roses and other plants need water. I then posed the question: what if the water was a different colour? Some children thought it would hurt the flower, Manha and Ahmad informed the group it would make the flower grow big. You were right water is needed along with sunshine for flowers to grow. We experimented before going outside. When we returned for lunch you raced up to me and said, look! The flowers have changed colours! Review of learning You were right Manha the coloured water had caused the white petals to change colours. I really appreciate how you took responsibility for our session today
