I salute akarabhagavatpda, the abode of ruti (Vedas), smti (Gt), and purnas (epics like the Rmyaa Mahbhrata), the abode of compassion, the one who bestows happiness on the world.

I salute, again and again, Sakarcrya, who is Lord Siva, and Bdryaa (Vysa) who is Lord Viu, the venerable ones who wrote the aphorisms (Brahmastras) and commentary (Brahmastrabhya).
The letter gu stands for the darkness (of ignorance) and ru represent its destruction. A guru is so called because he destroys the darkness (of ignorance).
