Through details the author of this article This source is credible and the goal is to give examples of what the birthmark actually symbolizes, and the reasons. This source compares to another story. The article by Theodore Colson is helpful however, it contains a lot of informational that I didnt find useful. There was information I found to be confusing, and it didnt really help to improve my essay.

Judith Fetterly talks about how the birthmark contends and explores a mans compulsion to idealize women. The author of this article also brings up how one cant imagine this story in reverse; A woman scrutinizing her husband to make him perfect. This article is helpful because it really goes into detail about how feminism is a factor in this story. This article is also very credible find this article to be useful because there are many things that are examined that I didnt see before. This article speaks from a womans point of view therefore feminist perspective is shown. Womens opinions, and every way possible that feminism can be shown in this story was present in this article found this article to be reliable because there were many details of women equality. The time period and setting was discussed on how women didnt have much equality as they do now, especially being in another country.

This resource was very helpful it contained information that I didnt know. The article basically summarized the story The Birthmark This article also told about how the setting and the time period was a factor in how the story was written , in the 18th century. This entry was very brief however, it did contain good information. The entry was reliable. The article also helped me to learn a little more about the story for example, how the birthmark was shaped, and how its shape was a hand. How the birthmark is explicitly a symbol of imperfection is derived.

After evidence from the text, there was an explanation of how symbol were evident. Aylmer perceived the birthmark on Georgianas face as imperfection, this article there were many reasons why he may have not found her birthmark to be a symbol of beauty, and to simply accept her as she was.
