The Teaching Process (should included planned, open-ended questions to monitor student learning, and how the lesson will be modeled) 1. Have students listen to read aloud mp3 twice. 2. After they finish, ask questions to check for understanding. Why was it hard to move in the mud? What happened when they went uphill? Downhill? Why would it be easier to pull if the cart was empty? What do wheels do? 3. Pull up chart .We saw some different pushes and pulls in the story. Who can tell me some? Use the raise your hand icon. 4. Pick students. Ask if the chart looks about right. Pick on students who have feedback. 5. I am going to have you find some items around your household that you could push, or pull so we can add to our list. 6. You will have 5 minutes to choose one push and one pull item in your household. Make sure to write them down. We will share what we found as a class. 7. Allow students to find their items.
