Why do we need food?

We eat food for 2 main purposes: (1) To supply nutrients; minerals vitamins, amino acids, lipid, etc.; (2) To supply energy for our growth. I am hungry! I like eating!

Hunger
Hunger and eating behavior are determined by both biological/physiological and psychological/social factors.
Hunger and eating behavior are the end points of a hugely complex biological system that involves all levels of the brain functions, and doesnt appear to be linked to simple physiological responses in any direct way we typically eat not to respond to hunger, but in anticipation of it.
