SYNOPTIC FEATURES: The centre value of the sub-tropical high pressure cell over the Azores is expected to weaken from 1031hPa to 1027hPa, while the value over the St. Helena high pressure cell is expected to remain constant at 1025hPa in the next 24hours. The centre value of the Equatorial low pressure cell over West Africa is expected to deepen from 1010hPa to 1009hPa. The ITD position at approximately 12.30N is expected to move northwards to about 13.5oN in the next 24hrs. SOUTHERN STATES COASTAL AREAS: Cloudy conditions with chances of localised rains are expected over cities such as Eket, Calabar, Port Harcourt and Yenagoa in the morning. Localised thunderstorms are expected over the entire coastal area during the afternoon hours. INLAND AREAS: Cloudy conditions are expected with chances of localised thunderstorms over the entire region during the afternoon hours. CENTRAL STATES: Cloudy condition is expected to prevail in the morning with some chances of localised thundery activities over Minna, Bida and Yelwa during this period. There are prospects of localised thunderstorms over Abuja, Makurdi, Lafia, Lokoja Minna, Bida and Jalingo during the afternoon/evening periods. Cities such as Kaduna and Jos should also expect localised thundery activities in the afternoon. NORTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy condition is expected over the entire region.
