a.

Identify the state and/or national content standards and the specific learning goal(s) to which the assessment is aligned. This lesson and assessment are aligned with the CCSS.Math.Content.2.NBT.B.5 standard which states: Fluently add and subtract within 100 using strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction. b. Provide an in-depth description of the assessment. Provide a rationale for choosing/designing the assessment based on its alignment with the standards and learning goal(s) that meet the students' needs. This assessment consists of 5 word problems that assesses the students understanding of adding two digit numbers. The problems all consist of two-digit numbers and the addends increase from one to four. Each problem aligns with the standard in which the numbers are within 100, require addition and subtraction, and require the students to focus on place value and the properties of operations. c. Describe the rubric/scoring guide you have selected/designed. How will you communicate its use to your students? My scoring guide is very simple. The guide rates the students content understanding on a scale that ranges from 1 to 5. The rate that they receive is based entirely on the amount of questions that the student answers correctly. For example, if the student answered three questions correctly, he or she would be rated as a 3 for understanding of the conte nt. I explained to the students prior to the lesson and assessment that they would be graded on this subject. I also explained to students that it was important for them to do their very best on this assessment because it would allow me to see how much they know about adding and subtracting two digit numbers and would help direct further instruction.

d. What evidence of student learning do you plan to collect from the assessment? How will you collect the data? Provide a rationale for your data-collection process. This assessment should allow me to see how familiar students are with adding and subtracting two digit numbers. It will help guide further instruction in which it will allow me to see how much more time I should spend on two digit addition and subtraction in the future. I will be utilizing a pre and posttest so that I am able to compare the two and see what students have gained as a result of my lesson.
