Kaffen 1 Peter Kaffen Mrs. Sickler English IV p.1 14 April 2014 Narrative Imperium is stronger now than ever.

I said to the throng of people below the pulpit. It was a hot June day. The cicadas were singing in the wind. But all was lost over the roar of the crowd. The year was 2070 and war was imminent. The core alliance had backed in all of its enemies and the time to bury the hatchet was now. The cries for war were as clarion as a virgins soul. Riots were incendiary but they were suppressed with brute power. Mere force kept the masses at bay. And the rise of new technology made sure that they stayed there. As are armies amass in Western Europe are goals are in fruition. I leaned on the banister and thought about how far president Tom Smith had brought control to such an untamed time. He, with the help of his jingoes, like me, maintained power throughout the districts and each ruled specified parts of the New America, now Imperium. However no one could be trusted. There were enemies every where. Hungry like ravenous jackals waiting in the rain to strike. I knew I was ahead of the game but there were those not as loyal to Imperium as I and others who were too loyal. Of course spies played a major part in the whole apparatus that was the World leader; Imperium. We still have a ways to go but with our new technology and massive army we will crush the opposition. Our forces have already crushed areas near the Rhine and our moving with the help of our Core Alliance. It was true areas around the Rhine were ours. Although we controlled little less than half of Western Europe we were quickly gaining more and more territory. However the use of

Kaffen 2 atomic devices mad a lot of the land negligent in the eyes of resources. But the people did not need to know about our treachery. It would be near impossible to stop the enemies of Imperium without the shear power of atomic nature. Our satellites made sure they could never retaliate. Once our spies in the far confines of the East, such as China and Mongolia found out that our enemies nuclear war heads trajectory worked around in space our satellites were constructed. They were of the strongest nature. Able to pull moving bodies towards them with electromagnetic pull due to their massive size. As we push forward our enemies have no way of counteracting the attacks. We will crush their soldiers and we will crush their hope. Imperium owns the world and we will not rest until our enemies disappear from the face of it. Although a clear cut victory seemed immanent, I knew I had better not get cocksure. Many a high ranking official has tasted the steel of the executioner. Its the danger of having spies. Once they are unleashed they are like a pestilence of locust. Their is no telling how to stop them unless brute strength is used. But since they hide in the shadows there is no way of telling were to strike. The little game of cat and mouse. How odd that even here one must act awry in the face of his so called friends. Fear not, Imperium will rise from the ashes of the old world and all will be wel- CRACK! I heard the deafening sound, like thunder from the rolling valleys were I was raised. Then the blow struck me back into the bannisters. The cacophony that followed may have been louder than the shot fired. However it all seemed eerily distant. As I looked up into the hazy sky everything seemed yellow. The world no doubt was undeniably changing and not for the better. All the nuclear waste had spread even to hear in the Americas. As I lay there on the metal ground I felt where the bullet had struck near my stomach. I tasted the blood in my mouth and felt the cool wind on my face. It reminded me of when the days were simple. Back on the farm in

Kaffen 3 Wyoming the days used to be simple. But everything changed when Imperium took control. Funny how I rose to power. It seemed not so long ago. But then again no one lives forever.
