Task 3.1.4 a. What materials and resources will you use to support your instruction and student learning?

Provide a rationale to support your choices. The materials that I will use to support my instruction are Math journals and tens and ones rods. Math journals will be used so that students can record their work and their answers. This will be a helpful resource to look back on as a study guide. The journal can also be taken up and looked over by the teacher at any time to check for understanding. The tens and ones rods will be used by students to go back and check their work. These rods reinforce what they have already learned about adding two digit numbers. They provide a more concrete and visual example. b. What types of technology do you plan to use in your instruction? I am using the Promethean Board provided by the school for my instruction of this lesson. This board is used for modeling examples. It is also used for the portion where students come up to the board and solve problems with the help of their classmates. c. How will your chosen technology enhance your instruction and student learning in the lesson? Not only is the Promethean Board an excellent way to project my examples and modeling so that each student is able to watch what I am doing, the students thoroughly enjoy getting to use the Promethean board themselves. I use the board for both of these reasons during my lesson. I use this board during a large portion of my instruction. It is an extremely helpful tool in the classroom, especially for Math.
