Focus Student 1:

a. Focus student 1 has several challenges that are linked to this particular learning goal. She has a particularly difficult time with Math, in general. Her strengths include that she is willing to learn and hardworking when it comes to this content area. However, her weaknesses are that she struggles with basic Math such as adding one digit numbers and even counting on her fingers. b. Focus student 1 requires a lot of one on one instruction in most subjects and lessons. Her IEP requires that I read challenging material to her, including assessments. I will pair Focus student 1 with Focus student 2, who is a much stronger Math student. This will ensure that she is hearing correct information for a second time. This will hopefully reinforce what she learns during my lesson.

c. I will be giving Focus student 1 a pre-test and a post-test. I will use the information collected from both tests to compare results. If the student scores better on the posttest than the pre- test, it will be obvious that she has made progress towards the learning goal.

Focus Student 2:

a. Focus student 2 has several stengths. His comprehension of Math is far beyond the 2nd grade. He is very knowledgeable about Math, in general. He is constantly raising his hand to answer questions during class, yet continues to pay attention in hopes to learn more. He is ready to move forward to more challenging material.

b. I will be challenging Focus Student 2 during this lesson. I will be providing him with a role to help another student who is struggling with this topic, focus student 1. I will also be providing him with extra questions to answer that will challenge him, including three digit addition and subtraction.

c. Focus Student 2 will also be taking a pre and posttest. If he scores higher on the posttest, once again, it will be obvious that he has made progress towards the learning goal. I will also review over the extra problems that he will be given. If he can answer those problems correctly, his ability to add simple two digit problems will be easy to see.
