Early Explorers
Week 4: Make a flowchart or timeline to show the early exploration of Australia before colonisation. Include graphics and text. Name the European explorers who visited Australia before colonisation. Mark their journeys on a map. What if early explorers were never interested in exploring the world? List at least 10 creative consequences. Choose one of the early explorers and list the problems that would have arisen in their voyage.

Conditions in England
Week 6: Choose one person from your family tree to interview about their life. Ask them how Australia has changed over time and what their lives were like growing up. Compare life in early England compared to living conditions today.
Colonisation
Week 8: Complete a mindmap showing everything you have learnt this term both in class and completing this homework project. Describe what the landscape would have been like for the first settlers. Paint or draw it. Make a Y chart for each type of person living in the first settlement. e.g. convict, soldier, settler, officer. Illustrate and write a news report on Captain Phillips landing at Port Jackson.
