Children are greeted by their teachers, guided to help find their name tags, and assisted to print in their name books. They can then choose to explore the library, science area, toys and games, and writing center.

KDI B11, B12,C17,D25, D27,E31, E32, Large Group: Greeting/The More We Get Together song/Counting Children/Movement Song Children become part of the classroom community, practice counting friends, engage in healthy movement activities to ready their brain and senses, and become aware of where they are and how to navigate their bodies in the large group space. KDI B11, E32, C18, C20 Message and Learning Transition We discuss news, an activity, or an item relatable to the students classroom community. Children will line up at the door, wash their hands, use the bathroom, and choose a seat for their meal. Meal time will consist of conversation and time to build community and relationships. Planning is an opportunity for children to use a simple activity to show that it is their turn to make a plan and state their intentions of what they will do during work time. KDI C19, C20, B11,

The classroom is set up in defined areas to encourage explorations in dramatic play, blocks, science, art, writing, library, and sensory experiences. KDI A3, G51, G52,B13,F43 Children attempt to work cooperatively to clean up the classroom. KDI B8, B11 Recall Students sit in a small group and reflect and share their favorite activity, 9:55-10:05 or what they did and with whom they played with at work time/free 1:55-2:05 choice.
