Meeting 1 Preparation: 10 phrases Im going to use: 1. Well, thank you ladies and gentlemen for being able to attend this meeting at such sort notice. 2. Im sure we all appreciate that we need to come to an agreement on the matter as soon as possible. 3. Perhaps, you could start Lindy? 4. Remco, do you have any ideas on this one? 5. Do we need a new corporate name? 6. What are the reasons? 7. Do we have to many brand names? 8. Should we reduce the number of brands or should we take one (other) name? 9. Could we take the same name for the company and brands? 10. Any other business? How well do I usually perform at meetings, what are my pitfalls?

In Dutch meetings I often present. My view is evident, but when I get a tough question, I dont know what to say. My volume goes down and I get insecure. But when Im excited about something, then there is nothing wrong.

In the first meeting, I was the chairman. The case was about new corporate name and brand names. My opening was very clear and I introduced everyone. About this opening, the teacher said I did it very well. For the next time, I have to interrupt a little bit more. Redwan talk a lot and I had to stop that.

Reflection on your performance: Describe how you feel about your performance during the meeting: what went well and what can be improved on?

Before the meeting, I was very nervous. Although, I had prepared well. The opening was clear and the start was therefore good. What I said above, can be improved the next time. I have to give everyone the chance to talk. So thats an important thing for the next time.

My action points for my next meeting are: Give at least three points you want to focus on in the next meeting + Mention how Action point Pronunciation To brake more Grammar How will I deal with it? I had to prepare more the next time. So I would prepare for unexpected questions. Redwan was talking a lot during the meeting. I must say to him that he needs to stop talking. Practice, practice, practice

Here we have the head of the European department Lindy van Nistelrooij. 3. Do we need to cancel the phone? 4. What should we do with the marketing? 5. Do we need a new colour? 6. The phrases used by the student: On the agenda youll see there are a few items. The summarizing was good. The opening was good and the closing was also good. Drawing conclusions was good. Vera said: for the next time, maybe you could interrupt more. Ms. Den Engelsman said: you have to work on your vocabulary and your grammer. When this is a lot of better, then it becomes much easier to talk.

The second meeting was much better than the previous meeting. The opening was clear. But what the teacher said was true. When my vocabulary is a much way better, than it becomes much easier to talk.

My action points for future meetings are: Give at least three points you want to focus on in future meetings + Mention how Action point Grammer Vocabulary Voting How will I deal with it? Practice, practice, practice Read some books, watch movies, talk a lot more English and practice some glossary. Study more English, so I will be more confident.
