was one of the worst experiences of my life, at the time. The summer before my freshman year I moved to Jackson, Michigan from Syracuse, New York. I didnt realize it when I lived there but the city of Syracuse was much larger than Jackson, but lived in the outskirts in a town similar to Hanover. We moved to Michigan because my dad got transferred here for his job. When I first moved here I didnt like it all; I had a bad image of the people and it was completely biased. Then I realized that I was putting my negative views of Michigan and Jackson onto them, so I made my view of the people here what they actually were, nice and intelligent. When I lifted the views I had before, I started to get more friends and better grades. Moving to Jackson still made me mad that my parents moved me here and I was mad at them for that, but then I realized they had about as much choice I did. They didnt like it anymore than me; if not they disliked it more than me. Recognizing this made me realize that I needed to grow up, in school and in life, started taking engineering classes and later went to the career center for engineering. And now I am a C.A.D. technician. In my future career of Mechanical Engineering I may be forced to relocate or retrain into a position I dont like to further myself in my career, and I may also not have a choice when I have others to look after. Also this may happen in my personal future. I may have to move for a

family member under unhappy circumstances or happy circumstances but either way I will have to do it and deal with it. Now that I have faced moving, I believe I can face it again and almost everything else as well.
