to my line of inquiry consist of multitudes of voices such as the heterosexuals, homosexuals, media, government, educators, and even religious aspects. All of these voices show a particular viewpoint on the matter, but the voices that truly answer my line of inquiry focus on the viewpoints of the non-gay people, the homosexuals, and the media. Reason being because the line of inquiry being being inquired about is the question as to Why has the media felt the need to exoniphy homosexuals and their lifestyles toward the heterosexuals with PDA? The first voice being explored is the heterosexauals viewpoint on the homosexuals. These are the people that have to see it on social media whether it be the Internet, magazines, books, TV, movies, or even just a public place its easy to see in recent years that homosexuality has become more common than in the media than the media attempting to cover it up. How do heterosexual people adapt to this? In a recent article called Enhancing Masculinity by Slandering Homosexuals: The Role of Homophobic Epithets in Heterosexual Gender Identity it explains how heterosexuals react to homosexuals and in some situations people feel the need to shy away from supporting the homosexuals or having a negative reaction towards them because its not considered to be normal or respectable. Heterosexuals simply can choose to either be respectable or ignorant towards homosexuals depending on how it is presented to them and in the present day people have learned to adapt to things with time, but to heterosexual people this could be challenging because

Flores 2 it could go against their moral and religious beliefs. Most people do not wish to persecute homosexuals, but they just wish that they would respect people that do not wish to see it overly broadcasted in the media. The voice that heterosexuals have in the matter is that they feel that social media is attempting to shove homosexuality on them and they just think that it should be done in a more subtle way that should respect those that wish to raise their children with the same morals as them. Homosexuality is a new socially accepted act but it needs to be brought about in the right matter (Carnaghi). Homosexuals is the next big voice in answering this line of inquiry because they are the main source as to why the media feels the need to broadcast their lifestyles to everyone. Richard Troiden discussed in his article Homosexuals Identity Development that when a male or female comes to conclusion with themselves that they could be potentially homosexual that they go through a series of stages that are crucial to how they deal with their new lifestyle. The homosexuals often feel outcasted and this creates a rebellion that pushes them to broadcast their sexuality because they want to make a statement as to who they are without acts of discrimination toward them. This voices viewpoint plays a huge role in the line of inquiry because the homosexuals are the ones that want to be socially accepted and in order to ensure this they want to make sure that they arent overlooked or judged in a negative way. Homosexuals still battle with social equality and acceptance but they are slowly being more accepted and put into the media. Some homosexuals do not wish to display their lifestyles and others want to which is why some people turn against the homosexuals because too much of anything being forced onto someone can be a bad thing. Not everyone feels the same way but to the people that wish to live in peace with their

Flores 3 sexuality this can be seen as a threat to their acceptance in todays society and crucial to how they decide to express themselves as well. (Troiden,Richard) The last voice being explored is the media and why current media feels the need to incorporate homosexuals in everything. In the article A regulatory fit perspective in majority versus minority support to attitudes toward homosexuals it explains how the media has been striving to not discriminate and move towards making homosexuals feel socially accepted. They feel the need to try to put homosexual roles in things because they think that if they put out in the public enough itll be view as normal and also show moral support to those receiving grief for being homosexual. The media also tries to embrace anything viewed as different because they think that people enjoy hearing about something out of the norm which explains why more celebrities have come out to claim their homosexuality because they know the media will support them whether heterosexual people like it or not. The media serves as a means of making the homosexuals feel comfortable about who they are but at the same time they show ignorance to those who wish to not have it shoved down their throats. (Falomir-Pichastor, Juan) All of the voices and viewpoints reflect one another in a way that explains how each connect with each other. The bottom line is that the media will only continue to post things about homosexuals but people can either accept it or completely reject it but thats how it is with several things in the media. The homosexuals have come a long way in society versus what it used to be back in the day where they were considered mentally ill or severely criticized. Some places are more traditional than others but slowly one day it may be legal and normal.
