9109 Professor Ogbara 26 January 2014 Explanation of research process: I decided not to use the library data base and did a google search on power of words. I came across an article that was a part of a website for a motivational speaker. I chose this article because after reading it I was able to fully understand the power of language in real worl circumstances. MLA Documentation: Morgan, Rebecca. "The Power of Our Words." Rebecca L. Morgan CSP, CMC. Morgan Seminar Group, n.d. Web. Summary: Morgan describes her experience she faces when she learns how powerful words can be. She states how words can affect people emotionally in either a positive or negative way. Morgan states how people don't even know the power of what they say and don't know the effects their words can have on others, because people speak so much that they cannot catch what they are saying. Morgan then goes on to explain how, the way people speak and communicate with others can have a long lasting emotion on the other person. She supports her claims from anecdotal events. She explains that even with good intentions, people can come of negatively or hurtful to others. In her final comment she brings a call to action to her audience hoping that they will now be able to choose their words wisely and learn from her article to change the world around them. Explanation of Research Process: I went to the Shatford Library online and went to the articles search engine, I then searched power in language. I didnt find a good article that related to our topic, to I then searched for power of words like I had did in my first search. I did not find anything in that search so I searched words + power. The website did not appear to be working so I decided to do a google search using power of language and came across an interesting article that seemed to reflect some of my thoughts on language. The Resurgence Trust, Web. 26 Jan. 2013 Summary: Moore describes how, in his line of work, he has learned that words are more just a meaning, they also are a force. He explains how the words we currently use in society have lost their original meaning, an example of this would be lite used instead of light. Moore then states that he is waiting for the grammar and love for language in society to improve and return. Moore then describes how politicians manipulate words to gain an advantage and hide the truth behind their statements. He then describes how words can be meaningful but are not friendly

Lopez 3 words and can turn people off to what the message behind the word is. He goes on to define how good words can help heal a person. He also explains how supportive and positive words should be said often to help heal and encourage others. Moore concludes by stating that the words used in our culture could have more meaning and care if we were to choose our words wisely.
