This is an Olympian performance by the superb cellist, Gregor Piatigorsky. Charle
s Munch and the BSO are equally excellent in this 1960 recording produced by the
legendary Max Wilcox. While Dvorak's Cello Concerto is often performed and reco
rded, this recording is close to definitive.
