Teaching Philosophy

There are many philosophies that are used throughout teaching and there are many that I will use when I
become a teacher. Glasser is an important theorist that will be used throughout my teaching. This is because if the
students do not have to five basic needs then they will not be able to respond during class. One of the five basic
needs that is very important is to have fun in the classroom. If the students are not having fun then they are not going
to be able to learn as well. Another theorist that is going to be used in my teaching is Lipsitzs adolescent needs. All
of the needs are important for a student to behave in class and to learn in the classroom. When knowing these
adolescent needs the teacher can learn how to work with diversity in the classroom. The teacher should know that it
is important for the students to have a positive social interaction. Another important need in Lipsitz adolescent
needs is structure for clear limits. The structure for clear limits will help to set rules in the classroom. It will show
the students what rules and procedures they will have to follow. The last theorist that I will be using during my
teaching is Erik Erikson because the school age stages will help determine where the student is in development.
These stages can help to determine whether a student is able to be social. The last theorist is Danielson who helps
with my teaching because it is good for self-evaluation as a teacher. Danielson is focusing on planning and
preparation, environment planning, instruction and professional responsibilities. All of these will help me as a
teacher because I can plan on helping the students in a more understanding way.
