REFLECTION

MY LEARNING FROM HTH

This programme helped me
how to create learning opportunities in my subject area to support
student development, motivation and learning
to explore ways to create an effective classroom environment, establish
rapport with all the students, and develop relationships with students
families
concepts of culture and its implications for teaching and learning
practice for planning and delivering curriculum in my specific content
area (math ) in using appropriate instructional technology in the content
area
by giving opportunity to apply and practice the learning theories
to identify the types and quality of teaching artifacts that should be
collected and presented in the portfolio
utilizing protocols to structure conversation about teaching & learning

How to plan a project? i.e which components should be there in the
project planning

A well-planned project is

it always contain an Essential Question that both
inspires & requires students to conduct serious
research
it should develop 21
st
century skills
it should engage students in-depth inquiry
it should organize tasks around a Driving Question
it should establish a NEED to KNOW
it should incorporate revision & reflection
very important ,it should include a public audience
too, to share their presentation

The PLP helped me to develop my fierce learning and reflecting on my learning
throughout the programme.

The WALOs & QQCs too supported me to take concrete steps towards my
goals and then reflecting on the experiences to guide my future learning.

Whenever the project is planned I want my students to
begin write down everything that I expect my students to learn from doing this
project.
This could include all kinds of things: knowledge of course-specific content,
generic skills like working in teams and critiquing drafts, specialist skills(like
drawing, model making etc) and personal attributes such as self-confidence.

About My Project

My project was about Addition & Subtraction of Fractions with same denomina-
tors.
I completed it successfully. Children enjoyed while doing the work. Great experience
they had. The best practices of this training was imparted to the students which really
gave a change in their learning. They learnt skills like critical thinking & problem
solving; creativity & innovation; communication & collaboration. They also learnt
the life & career skills like initiative & self-direction; productivity & accountability;
leadership & responsibility. My project covered different subject areas like Eng-
lish(creating their own recipe or a poem on Fractions by drafting & redrafting) Envi-
ronmental Science(the fruits which they took to prepare fruit salad which nutritional
value did they have & learning antiquates before & after preparing the dish)
Arts(creativity in preparing the fruit salad dish and the end products in the form of
posters)
My failure was not being able design the activity for subtraction through making of
fruit salad.
My fear about this programme is whenever I take up any project, How PBL will sup-
port integrated learning in all the subjects?

My Challenges are
To act as designers and facilitators, providing guidance and support rather
than direct lectures
To have more time and increased opportunities to engage the students in the
way they are most excited
Boundary-less learning
Collaboration among the students

My next steps
Continue to plan the projects
Share projects
Involve students as learners & planneers
To seek support from my team members, subject peers & CF
Help collegues for planning projects.
