student lo walk around the outside of the circle to
macrobeats during the first four measures of the
song. During the last two measures, that student
should circle the nearest student in the circle by
going through the windowsoneitherside ofthatstu-
dent.Then. the circled studentjoinsthefirstinwalk-
ing around the outside ofthe circle.
The two students on the outside ofthe circle should
walk independent ofone another, and at the end of
the song, each should walk around a student in lhe
circle. In this way, there will be twice as many stu-
dents walking around the circle with each repetition
ofthe song.
FOR THE MUSIC TEACHER -
It is possible thal the students who are walking
aroundthe outside ofthe circle will bedistractedby
playing the game and therefore not walk accurately
to macrobeats. Remind them that they mustwalk to I
the beat.
Ifthey continue to walk without coordinating their
movement to the beat, provide an aural reinforce-
ment ofthe beat. Play macrobeats on a tambourine.
However, wheneverthe word"jingle"appears,shake
the tambourine. Then, immediately resume playing
macrobeats.
