What Must I Research?
In this task you will be expected to demonstrate real
Knowledge and Understanding of Cubism and a
Cubist artist of your choice. This could be presented
on a poster board, in a file or on a PowerPoint
presentation. You will need to give a short oral
presentation of your findings. Props and pictures
can be used at your discretion.

There are 4 Sections that you must cover.

In your work give a background to Cubism
and the different stages it went through.
Ask yourself questions like-
Why did it happen?
When and where did it start?
What does it look like?
Who started it?

and choose one artist you would like to
discuss.

Describe, Analyze, Interpret and Judge a
famous work by your chosen artist.

How do you think people in Europe would
have reacted to the type of Art the Cubists
were producing almost 100 years ago, why?
In your opinion, did the Cubists steal the ideas
of the African artists, or did they create a new
and original Art form?

Discuss how you have planned a composition that
has a Cubist quality this term.
(Discuss the design cycle, research, observational
drawings, experiments, composition studies,
thumbnails, etc.)
