Students, Teachers and ParentsLearning for a Lifetime!

May 10, 2014

Dear Students, Teachers, Parents and School Community:

Hainerberg is proud to announce that on Thursday afternoon in an out-brief
presentation by the schools visiting AdvancED accreditation team, the team
recommended that Hainerberg Elementary School be accredited pending
further review and final action by the AdvancED Accreditation Commission.

The goal of AdvancED is to build capacity within our school to improve and
sustain student learning. Their role is to help stimulate and improve
effectiveness and efficiency throughout the institution. During the visit three
areas were analyzed and evaluated: impact of teaching and learning, leadership
capacity and resource utilization.

The team provided valuable feedback and direction for improvement to our
school. The team was able to interview 56 parents and community members.
The lead shared that this was a very high number of participants as most schools
have less than 20. We are so thankful for your time and willingness to come and
share your impression of the school along with your suggestions for
improvement.

The team identified three powerful practices within the school.
1. The school has established a focused process for setting and
acknowledging student behavioral expectations as outlined in the
Hainerberg High Five Heroes Program.
2. Teachers have opportunities to participate in mentoring, co-teaching, and
coaching initiatives to discuss current practices and ways that instruction
might be improved.
3. Students, teachers, and parents have access to exceptional collections of
media and information resources in digital and non-digital formats in the
media center as well as in all classrooms.

The team also outlined three required actions that the school will address over
the next two years.
1. Extend and refine the current collaborative leadership model to
consistently engage all stakeholders in effectively supporting the schools
purpose and direction.

2. Monitor and systematically adjust instructional practices in response to
data from multiple standards-based and on-going formative assessments
of student learning.
3. Enhance current practices used by school leaders to monitor, facilitate,
and support improvement of teachers instructional practices to ensure
student success.

The school would like to thank the many parents and community members that
supported the visit through their involvement in the school parent/community
interviews. Your input was a valuable piece of our schools accreditation.
Hainerberg is proud to be an accredited school here in the community. Thank
you for your support and dedication to our school and its continued growth in the
years to come.
