It can be seen that PDHPE covers a wide range of
topic areas. Each of which are important for children
to learn, to contribute to the development of a
positive sense of self.

It is crucial that each of the topic areas are covered in
a professional manner, and in an environment that is
safe and nurturing.

It is important that children feel comfortable whilst
covering each of the topic areas, so that they feel
free to explore the content and ask questions.
It is important that as parents and carers you have
an understanding of the content we will be covering
in PDHPE.

It is important that you each feel comfortable to
address any issues or ask questions regarding the
PDHPE content at any time.

Information will be made available to you on each
of the topic areas and what will be covered in the
PDHPE syllabus.
The aim of the PDHPE syllabus is to.. .
develop in each student the knowledge and
understanding, skills, values and attitudes needed to
lead healthy, active and fulfilling lives. In doing so the
syllabus will form the basis for students to adopt a
responsible and productive role in society.

PDHPE is a crucial component of each childs primary
school education. Together with parents and carers, we
as a school aim to implement the PDHPE syllabus so as
to help prepare children for a happy and healthy
future.
