Classroom Guidelines Middle School

In order to create a positive and safe learning environment, where students have an opportunity to
expand their knowledge in the field of technology, certain rules have been established for the
classroom/lab and will be maintained and followed throughout the school year.

1. Safety is the number one concern in the technology lab. All students will conduct
themselves in a safe manner in the classroom/lab at all times, failure to do so will result in
disciplinary action. Follow all the safety guidelines.
2. RESPECT (Mutual)
a. Students are not to interrupt/speak when others are speaking (instructor / other
students).
b. Always raise your hand when you would like to speak to the class or instructor.
c. Do not touch or damage other students projects. All material for projects must be
School Appropriate.
d. Absolutely No Bullying is tolerated.
3. Be on Time (BOT)
a. Students will arrive to class prepared and on time, or have a valid late pass.
b. Deadlines
c. Assignments
d. Homework
e. If an assignment/Homework is late for unexcused reasons, for each school day late,
the maximum grade for the assignment drops 10 points. Maximum grade is 100
points. After four (4) school days, the maximum grade is a sixty (60).

5. Entering and Exiting Classroom:
a. All students will be in the classroom, in assigned seats and quiet when the bell rings.
Students will also return to their assigned seats at the end of the period.
b. Students will complete the Do Now when seated at the beginning of class
c. Students will complete the Exit Slip at the end of class and hand in.
6. School Rules:
a. All school rules regarding electronic devices (Cell phones, Ipods, and video games)
will be followed in the classroom. ( See Student Code of Conduct agreement)
b. Students are not permitted in the classroom/lab unless an instructor is present.
c. Students are not permitted to operate any equipment/tools without instructors
permission.


Please store this document in students Tech Ed folder.

The following items are necessary EVERY DAY:

Notebook, Paper, Tech Ed Folder and Pencil or Pen.

Grading Policy: Student grades will consist of Project Evaluations, Formal and Informal
Assessments, Tests, Quizzes, Homework, Time on Task and Safety.

student portal.
