muestra su compromiso con la certifcacin en Calidad EFQM.

La misin expuesta en el proyecto educativo, se ha constituido en
una fortaleza y directriz fundamental como nexo entre la universidad
y el colegio, permitiendo a travs de ella, la construccin de compe-
tencias institucionales que expresan los diversos niveles teleolgicos
a los que se pretende llegar por parte de la comunidad acadmica.
La experiencia de este proyecto innovador fortalecida por la exis-
tencia de un buen PEI (Proyecto Educativo Institucional) y el plan-
teamiento de diversos proyectos transversales, requiere de un plan
de ejecucin que permita llevar a cabo con mayor precisin, direc-
cin y sentido, lo establecido por los documentos existentes. Por eso
en febrero de 2010, se dio inicio al proceso de certifcacin desde el
modelo European Foundation For Quality Management, EFQM, de
excelencia, con el fn de desencadenar ciclos de mejora y una cultura
de autoevaluacin y planeacin continua.
Con este modelo, se busca identifcar los puntos fuertes evidencias
y reas de mejora de los diferentes procesos de la institucin, para
luego elaborar ejecutar y evaluar los planes de accin de la organiza-
cin educativa. El Colegio en 2013, reanud su proceso de calidad en
la fase comprometidos con la excelencia, trabajo que rendir rditos
para fnales de 2014, en donde se espera fortalecer an ms lo exis-
tente y poner un listn alto en la cultura de la planeacin y la calidad.

A
lo largo de 14 aos de experiencia de la institucin, en
el Colegio Bilinge de la Universidad El Bosque, se ha
promocionado haca la vida acadmica universitaria ms
de mil graduados, que al pasar de los aos, se han incorporado a las
esferas productivas del pas.
El reto de la Institucin contina, por eso es importante un alto en
el camino para reforzar los puntos dbiles de la funcin pedaggica,
expuesta en el Proyecto Educativo Institucional, as como estimular
las fortalezas que han hecho del colegio, un lugar atractivo para los
jvenes y sus padres, que ven en este tipo de formacin, una alternativa
en el mercado educativo como respuesta a sus expectativas e intereses.
El proyecto educativo institucional del Colegio se ha caracterizado
por brindar un programa acadmico bilinge semestralizado, coedu-
cacional, de alta calidad y con la posibilidad de ofrecer reas de
profundizacin, que incorporan al educando con el sistema univer-
sitario. Estas caractersticas, han constituido la columna vertebral
de la Institucin, sumada a las nuevas necesidades del desarrollo
tecnolgico y epistemolgico de las diferentes reas del saber.

hrough 14 years of experience
in our institution at the Bilin-
gual School of the University El
Bosque, more than a thousand of students
have been promoted toward the university
academic life and throughout the time, the
productive spheres of the country. Since
the challenge of the institution continues,
it is really important to make a stop on the
journey to strengthen the weak points of the
pedagogical work established by our institu-
tional educational project as well as stimu-
late the schools strengths. Those strengths
have made of our school an attractive alter-
native for young people and their parents in
the educational market as an answer to their
expectations and interests.
Our institutional educational Project has
been characterized for providing a half yearly
bilingual coeducational qualifed academic
program and with this, the possibility to
offer different areas in the feld of superior
education. Those characteristics mentioned
above have constituted the backbone of our
institution together with the technological
and epistemological development needs of
the different branches of knowledge.
The presented mission of our educational
project has been established as a nexus with
the university since a strong fundamental
guideline. It allows the construction of insti-
tutional competences that expresses diffe-
rent technological levels that the school aims
to fnd through the academic community.
The experience of this innovative Project
that has been strengthened because of the
existence of a good PEI (Institutional Educa-
tional Project) and the approach of several
cross-cutting projects requires an imple-
mentation plan that permits to carry out
the direction and the sense of our mission
precisely. Therefore in February of 2010,
the school began with the quality certifca-
tion process EFQM (European Foundation
For Quality Management) in order to trigger
improvement cycles and a culture of self-as-
sessment and continuous planning.
With this model (EFQM), the school aims
to identify the strengths and improvement
areas of the different processes of our insti-
tution and then implement and evaluate the
educational organizations action plans. In
2013, the school resumed its quality process
in the compromise phase with the exce-
llence and work that yield returns in 2014.
We expect to strengthen what we have and
to put a high standard in the planning and
quality culture.

El nuevo Xbox One lanzado por Microsoft el 22 de noviembre de 2013.

l mundo ciberntico evoluciona a un ritmo acelerado descubriendo nuevas tecnolo-
gas que son favorables para todas las personas, como nuevos computadores, celu-
lares, gafas inteligentes, robots, etc.
Las consolas de videojuegos, son otro ejemplo de la evolucin tecnolgica que acapara
el inters de aquellos que viven a la vanguardia en materia de tecnologa, stas a su vez
cambian constantemente mejorando sus aplicaciones. La diversin y el entretenimiento
van ms all del realismo, donde jugar se convierte en un mundo de relaciones con otros
jugadores que comparten el gusto por los videojuegos y adems, en el que se experi-
mentan sistemas ms inteligentes y ms giles. Ello no quiere decir que no pueden tener
defectos, pueden ser pocos, pero los tienen.
Por eso quiero que te sorprendas con el Xbox One, una nueva videoconsola producida por
Microsoft, diseada para que los jugadores se diviertan y experimenten nuevas tecnologas,
pero sobre todo, para dejarlos sin aliento. Esta nueva videoconsola tiene lo mejor, en lo que
ms te gusta como pelculas, series, msica, deporte y juegos, todo en un mismo lugar.
Puedes pasar de una a otra, en tan slo un instante o simplemente realizar dos actividades
al mismo tiempo. Por ejemplo, puedes tener una conversacin por skype mientras juegas o
ves una pelcula y jugar, las combinaciones las escoges t.
Esta consola tiene caractersticas similares a otras antiguas, pero tambin caractersticas
que la hacen ser nica e incomparable con otras. Algunas de esas caractersticas son: Un
sistema de Kinect permanente (cmara que reconoce gestos, micrfono para dar rdenes
de voz), un reproductor de Blu-ray, el puente HDMI (que te permite ver la tele desde tu
Xbox), un procesador de x86 de ocho ncleos (que permite pasar de un juego a una aplica-
cin de entretenimiento en un instante), 8GB de RAM y 500GB de disco duro (memoria
ms que sufciente para tus juegos, pelculas, apps, msica, etc), opciones para personalizar
la pantalla de inicio de tu Xbox One y la mejor calidad de imagen tan real como la vida
misma. Adems te puedes conectar con tus amigos por medio de Xboxlive (usando los auri-
culares), para divertirte en compaa.
Los accesorios son la consola Xbox One, sensor Kinect, cable HDMI, mando inalmbrico,
auriculares para charla, kit carga & juega, adaptador para auriculares estreo y accesorios
extras que son usados para juegos especfcos como el Thrustmaster: TX Racing Wheel,
Ferrari 458 Italia Edition (manubrio). Existe un Pack Xbox One con Call of Duty Ghosts
que incluye todo lo anterior ms una versin digital de Call of Duty Chosts y contenido extra
para el modo de multijugador (camufaje de arma, retcula y distintivo).
Como cualquier producto, tiene muchas ventajas y benefcios extraordinarios, pero a la
vez puede tener sus pequeos defectos, en este caso se ha recibido crticas fuertes desde
que fue lanzado el producto al mercado y se encontr detalles sobre el precio de la consola.
En algunos lugares los precios son bastante elevados, como en otros pueden no serlo (499$
en Estados Unidos y 499 en Europa). Otra crtica, ha sido por los detalles polticos de la
consola como que exige una conexin permanente a Internet.

Una de las crticas ms fuertes que han tenido que recibir, ha sido el desacuerdo con que el
sensor de Kinect es obligatorio, por lo que no se encuentra ni una sola consola de Xbox One,
que no la tenga. Aspecto que resulta molesto para muchos usuarios que piensan que como el
sensor de Kinect estara conectado permanentemente interferira con la privacidad del usuario.
En conclusin, debemos asesorarnos muy bien antes de adquirir el Xbox One, teniendo muy
presente las ventajas mencionadas y al mismo tiempo las crticas que le han hecho a los crea-

he development of the cybernetic world is going fast. New technologies as compu-
ters, cellphones, smart glasses and robots are one step further, making the techno-
logy something helpful for us. Videogames are one of the most common examples
of how the technology is changing constantly for the people who are always at the vanguard
in these cybernetic terms. Fun and entertainment are beyond realism, where play becomes
a world of relationships between players that share their passion for videogames as well they
want to experiment more advanced videogame systems.
According to this, the Xbox One, the new console made by Microsoft, is designed for
the player that needs a challenge which leaves him or her without breath. This console has
the capacity to do more than one thing at the moment, it means, you can play something
while youre watching a movie, or listening to music during a TV show. Its your choice how
many combinations you can do with these options.
This console has some similar features from the former consoles, but what makes it unique
are these incomparable features: A permanent Kinect system (A camera with move sensor,
and microphones with voice recognition), a Blue-Ray player, an HDMI bridge to watch TV
from your Xbox, an eight core x86 processor that allows you to shift between applications,
and an 8GB RAM with 500GB of hard disk, thats more enough space for your games,
videos, music, etc.
Also, this console has integrated games as Thrust master: TX Racing Wheel and Ferrari
458 Italia Edition. Theres also an Xbox One edition that includes Call of Duty: Ghost, the
awarded frst shot multiplayer from Activision, with extra content and special features.
Like any product, it has many advantages and extraordinary benefts, but also it can have
its minor faws. The Xbox One has been strongly criticized since it was launched to the
market, because in some places its very expensive, and in others may not be ($ 499 in USA
and 499 in Europe). Another criticism has been the political details of the console as it
requires a permanent Internet connection. The biggest critic to the Xbox One, according to
the Internet connection, is that the Kinect system is always working, and the users are disa-
greed with this, because it may interfere with their privacy.
In conclusion, we must take advice very carefully before buying the Xbox One, highly
conscious of the advantages mentioned while the reviews have been made to the creators of

ecientemente, en el Laboratorio
Nacional Lawrence Berkeley en
los Estados Unidos, un grupo de
cientfcos revolucion la tecnologa con
el lanzamiento de un msculo artifcial,
que se dice que ha superado los msculos
humanos al parecer debido a su potencia,
fuerza y utilidad.
Los profesores e investigadores de la
facultad de Ingeniera y Ciencia que han
realizado este estudio durante mucho
tiempo, utilizaron diferentes materiales con
el fn de crear este innovador msculo, inclu-
yendo el dixido de vanadio. ste compuesto
qumico ha contribuido sustancialmente a la
realizacin de dicho elemento debido a sus
efectos termodinmicos, por ejemplo, puede
convertirse en un material con alta conduc-
cin de energa, a pesar de que se puede
aislar a temperaturas muy bajas, por esto
mismo y debido a sus cualidades elctricas
y qumicas, el msculo puede moverse y
actuar correctamente.
A su vez gracias al cambio rpido de fase
que posee, este material se utiliza para la
fabricacin de motores con el fn de hacerlos
trabajar ms velzmente.
Principalmente, el diseo acerca de estos
nuevos tipos de msculos se hizo para crear
robots capaces de realizar actividades que
se asemejen a las humanas, ya que por un
lado son capaces de lanzar objetos a largas
distancias, pero por otro son capaces de
levantar peso mucho mayor que su propio,
cosa que es ms impresionante.
Como se mencion anteriormente,
stos poseen una fuerza superior a la de
los humanos ya que un humano promedio
es capaz de levantar slo la mitad de su
peso, fnalmente los cientfcos les han
brindado algo importante a los pacientes
gracias al aporte y resultado de sus estu-
dios. Actualmente, los seres humanos
han necesitado los robots para que
puedan ejercer ciertos trabajos y tareas,
y es conveniente utilizar estos y otros
elementos, a medida que la estudios sigan
evolucionando, puesto que su uso est
puesto al servicio de toda la humanidad.
Por esto y muchas otras razones debemos
estar agradecidos con las nuevas tecnolo-
gas ya que para las personas ser til en el
futuro utilizar este tipo de herramientas, que
sustituirn a las funciones humanas.

ecently at the Lawrence Berkeley
National laboratory in the U.S, a
group of scientists have revolutio-
nized technology from a certain point by
launching an artifcial muscle that is said
it has overcome human ones apparently
because it is more powerful and useful.
The teachers and researchers of the
engineering and science faculty who have
conducted this study for a long time used
different materials in order to create this
innovative muscle, including vanadium
dioxide. This chemical compound subs-
tantially helped to the realization of this
muscle due to its thermodynamic effects,
for example it can become into a very
conductive material even though it can be
isolated at very low temperatures, so due
to its electrical and chemical characteristics
it can move and act correctly. And thanks
to the abrupt phase change, this material
is used to manufacture engines because it
makes them work faster.
These muscles were made in order to create
robots capable of having human characteris-
tics, as they are capable of throwing objects
at long distances, but in most impressive

El Ftbol Retorna Al Colegio
El entrenador Giovanni Bentez aconseja a la seleccin del colegio Bilinge de la Universidad El Bosque.
E
l Colegio Bilinge de la Universidad El Bosque se ha destacado por tener un
deporte bandera, el voleibol. Sin embargo el Colegio le ha apostado a uno de los
deportes que ms acogida tiene en la poblacin estudiantil masculina, el ftbol.
Para contextualizar a nuestro lector con relacin a la evolucin que ha tenido este deporte
en nuestra Institucin har referencia a sus inicios.
Hace algunos aos, el Colegio cont con un equipo de ftbol el cual particip en el torneo
de 2004, contra las facultades de la Universidad y lleg a ser campen, junto con la direccin
del seor Rector Germn Neuta, quien en ese entonces, era el director tcnico del equipo.
Despus de ese torneo, el equipo no volvi a participar en estos eventos, no obstante en el
segundo semestre de 2013, surgi la propuesta de hacer un nuevo equipo para participar en la
Asociacin de Colegios del Norte, ACN, esta idea emerge gracias a la construccin del nuevo
campus de la Universidad, el cual cuenta con una cancha profesional de ftbol. Gracias a este
espacio, el equipo cobra vida y tiene la posibilidad de entrenarse y jugar.
Ante esta propuesta, se abre la convocatoria para el equipo de ftbol, y de ese modo se
seleccion a sus participantes. Tras realizar el partido de seleccin, al cual varios estudiantes
asistieron, los respectivos profesores publicaron en la cartelera del Colegio los seleccio-
nados que iban a conformar el equipo ese semestre. Esta seleccin cont con la orientacin
de la profesora Mabel Castillo, el coordinador, Eider Snchez y el seor rector, Germn
Neuta. El rector del Colegio fue el director tcnico en los primeros entrenamientos y en uno
de los primeros partidos, pero ante la falta de tiempo, surgi la necesidad de un cambio de
director tcnico, razn por la cual se llam al profesor de ftbol de la Universidad, quien
acept trabajar con el equipo y acompaarlo durante los entrenamientos y el campeonato.

on the undercard of the school. This team
counted on the orientation of the teacher
Mabel Castillo, the coordinator Eider
Sanchez and the principal German Neuta.
At the beginning, the school principal was
the technical director in the frst workouts
and in one of the frst matches, but time was
not enough and due to this there was the
need to change the technical director. For
this reason, the soccer teacher of the univer-
sity was called in order to train the team and
accompany it during the championship.
The frst match of the team with new
coach was against the University of
America, this was a preparation match in
order to face the ACN tournament. After
an even match during the frst minutes
of the game, the winning team was the
University of America with a score of 8-2.
After this defeat, errors were corrected
during workouts to confront the frst
match of the Championship.
After several workouts, the great day
arrived. The team had the frst debut in the
tournament of the CAN being a practically
new team, since it was formed a few weeks
before this.
The result was a draw with the Liceo
Moderno school and due to this, the team
was motivated. Unfortunately, the team
lost the other twomatchesand the team was
eliminated of the tournament in the frst
phase. As a result of the elimination, the
training was postponed for some time but
the team played again in a match against
the teachers of the school on the sports day.
On January 13th, students from calendar
B resumed their lessons at the school and
calendar A did it onJanuary 27th. As the
academic year began, many new students
were enrolled and the idea of taking up the
soccer team again was considered in order
to participate in new tournaments. Now,
we expect to have a good participation and
ensure high visibility of the school in the
future tournaments.

El primer partido del equipo con el nuevo director tcnico fue contra la Universidad
Amrica, este fue un partido de preparacin para enfrentar el torneo de la ACN. Tras un
partido parejo durante los primeros minutos de juego, el equipo vencedor fue la Univer-
sidad de Amrica con un resultado de 8-2. Despus de esta derrota se corrigieron errores
durante los entrenamientos para poder afrontar el primer partido del campeonato.
Despus de varios entrenamientos lleg el da en el que el equipo iba a debutar en el
torneo de la ACN, siendo un equipo prcticamente nuevo, ya que se form unas semanas
antes del inicio de ste. El resultado fue un empate con el Liceo Moderno, el equipo estaba
motivado ya que fue un buen resultado pero los otros dos encuentros los perdi quedando
de ltimo en su grupo y eliminado del torneo en la primera fase. Tras la eliminacin se
dejaron las prcticas por un tiempo y despus se disput un partido contra los profesores
del colegio en el Da Deportivo.
El 13 de enero de 2014 se retomaron las clases para calendario B y el 27 de enero para
calendario A, al ser inicio de ao varios estudiantes ingresaron a la institucin y de nuevo
surgi la idea de retomar el equipo de ftbol para que participe en nuevos torneos. Ahora
slo nos queda esperar y prepararnos para dejar muy en alto el nombre del colegio.

T
he bilingual school of the University El Bosque is known for having a single sport,
volleyball, nevertheless, the school is also confdent in one of the sports that boys
love the most, soccer. In order to contextualize our reader with the evolution of this
sport in our institution, I will refer to its beginnings.
A few years ago, there was a soccer team at the school which played a tournament in
2004 against the faculties of the University and became champion together with the prin-

increbles de mi vida y amigos que nunca voy a olvidar, Actualmente estoy ensayando para dos
obras: El arte de sacar la maleta de Pablo Rubiano y la Siempre Viva de Miguel Torres.
Gracias al Colegio Bilinge de la Universidad El Bosque, he tenido la posibilidad de
acercarme ms a mi sueo y explorar la faceta de un artista. Igualmente, he conocido
personas que han contribuido en la construccin de este sueo y por primera vez salir de
la burbuja en la que estuve atrapado tanto tiempo.

I
ve studied acting for as long as I can remember. It has always been a passion to me
and its something that Ive loved since I was a baby. I studied at several academies and
with several teachers, and then I started doing it at school (before I joined the Bilingual
School of the University El Bosque). My frst play was the golden bird and I performed the
role of the bird. itself. This was about eleven years ago, when I was in frst grade. I Conti-
nued working on the theatre during the secondary and I took part in two completely different
plays, the Odyssey by Homero and The Immortal by Borges.
But ever since I joined this school, Ive never felt closer to my passion and future
profession. This is because this particular school offers an unmatched connection to
the University, which means that I could not only take some classes with the people of a
particular career (which I didnt) but I could be in the workshops of the University. Here,
I learnt more than Ive ever done in my life and Ive been happier than ever before. One
of the most amazing things that happened to me was the opportunity to have lessons with
the master of masters, Ren Ros, who taught me when I was six years old. It was like a
sort of meta experience, the purpose of this was to improve myself. Ive met some of the
most amazing people in my life and some friends that I will never forget. Im currently
rehearsing for two plays: El Arte de Sacar la Maleta by Pablo Rubiano and La Siempre
Viva by Miguel Torres.
Thanks to the Bilingual School of the University El Bosque, I have had the possibility of
being closer to my dream and exploring the facet of an artist. Likewise, I have met many
people who have contributed me in the construction of this dream and for the frst time to be
out of the bubble in which I was caught for so long time.

En El Colbosque

n el Colegio de la Universidad El Bosque, los estudiantes tienen la gran ventaja de
involucrase tanto en las actividades propias del Colegio como de la Universidad. Es
as, como en 2013, disfrutaron de la salida a Suesca, los equipos de ftbol y voleibol,
Da del Idioma y de Ingls, entre otras, y en lo referente a las actividades de la Universidad,
hicieron parte de la celebracin de la semana Anglfona.
En Suesca, los estudiantes pudieron disfrutar de actividades como escalar en roca, sende-
rismo, rappel, espeleologa y ante todo compartir con compaeros y docentes, permitin-
doles conocerse un poco ms. Fue un espacio en el que se pudo gozar de un da diferente,
con un clima maravilloso y un paisaje cautivador, propio de esta regin cundinamarquesa.
Los equipos de ftbol y voleibol del Colegio les brindan la posibilidad a los estudiantes
de participar en diferentes torneos llevando el nombre de la Institucin, fortaleciendo sus
competencias como grupo y potenciando sus habilidades deportivas
El Da del Idioma y de Ingls les di la posibilidad de participar con Los Cuadros Vivos
y Bosqueland, respectivamente. En estos se vi un despliegue de talentos, conocimiento e
intereses que nos motiva a esperar mejor calidad y un trabajo excelente para este 2014.
As mismo, se recibi la invitacin de la Universidad para participar en la semana Angl-
fona y a la que acudimos con el Museo Anglfono. Durante esta semana, los estudiantes
realizaron exposiciones de la literatura britnica, cine representativo de esta cultura, un
recorrido turstico por los sitios ms sobresalientes del Reino Unido y se fnaliz con el
desfle de trajes de poca desde los aos 50 a la actualidad, amenizado por un concierto de
rock, teniendo como invitado al Grupo White Fantasy, cuyo bajista era el estudiante Enrique
Arbelez de grado 11. Es por esto, que estamos listos y al ritmo de samba seguir participando
en esta semana de Internacionalizacin, pues para este ao el pas invitado es Brasil.

e estudiado actuacin durante
todo el tiempo que puedo recordar.
Siempre ha sido una pasin para
m y es algo que he querido desde que era
un beb. Estudi en varias academias y con
varios maestros, luego empec a hacerlo
en el colegio (antes de unirme al Colegio
Bilinge de la Universidad el Bosque). Mi
primera obra fue El pjaro de oro y el papel
que represent fue el mismo pjaro de oro.
Esto fue hace unos once aos, cuando yo
estaba en primer grado. Continu ejerciendo
el teatro durante la secundaria y particip
en dos obras completamente diferentes, La
Odisea de Homero y El inmortal de Borges.
Pero desde que me un a este Colegio,
nunca me he sentido ms cerca de mi pasin
y profesin futura. Esto porque particular-
mente, la Institucin ofrece una conexin
sin igual con la Universidad, lo que signi-
fca que no slo poda tomar algunas clases
con alguna carrera en particular (cosa que
no hice), sino que poda unirme a los talleres
que all se ofrecan. Aqu he aprendido ms
de lo que he hecho en toda mi vida y he sido
ms feliz que nunca. Una de las cosas ms
sorprendentes que me han sucedido fue tener
clases con el maestro de los maestros, Ren
Ros, quien me ense cuando yo tena seis
aos, era una especie de experiencia meta,

At the school
A
t the University El Bosque Bilingual School, the students have a great advantage that
is to participate as in the activities of the school as in the activities of the University.
This is how in 2013 they could enjoy of the feldtrip to Suesca, the soccer and the
volleyball teams, the Language and English Day, among others, and related to the activities of
the University, they were involved in the activities done during the Anglo-Saxon week.

In Suesca, the students could enjoy acti-
vities like rock climbing, walking from the
town along the train tracks for about 10
minutes, abseiling, going caving, and most
of all sharing with partners and teachers;
activity that let them know better each
other. This was a different atmosphere,
with a wonderful climate and captivating
scenery, characteristic of this Cundina-
marquesa region.
The soccer and volleyball teams of the
school afford the students the opportunity
to participate in different tournaments,
showing the name of the school to the
community, strengthening them as a team
and developing their sport skills.
The Language and English Day gave them
the possibility to participate with The Alive
Portraits and the Bosqueland, respectively,
in which we could see a display of talent,
knowledge and interest what let us think the
students will improve the quality and do an
excellent job in 2014.
In the same way, the University invited
us to participate in the Ango-Saxon Week,
where the students did different presenta-
tions about British literature, British Movies,
a Sightseeing tour through the United
Kingdom, and last but not least, a fashion
show from the 50s to nowadays styles and
a rock band to make it pleasant. It was
White Fantasy band with the eleventh-grade
student, Enrique Arbelez, at the bass. That
is why we are ready and at the rhythm of
Samba can participate during the 2014 Inter-
nationalization Week, where Brazil is our
guest of honor.
These are some of the activities we had
the chance to enjoy in 2013; we hope this
2014 will be full of activities that let us grow
our bounds as a school and be part in this
community where we are immerse and the
students talent, willingness and knowledge
take possession of the school.

l equipo masculino de voleibol del Colegio Bilinge de la Universidad El
Bosque, vivi un ao de muchos xitos. En el primer semestre de 2013 ganaron
el torneo de la Asociacin Colombiana de Establecimientos Educativos Privados,
ASOCOLDEP, y fueron campeones de la Segunda Parada de Voleibol, que organiz
nuestra Institucin y en el segundo semestre nuestro equipo ocup el tercer lugar en el
torneo del colegio Agustiniano Norte, en gran medida porque la mayora del equipo ya se
haba graduado. Para el presente ao, se ha conformado un buen equipo femenino con el
cual se espera una excelente participacin.

Lets Live the Volleyball
L
ast year was a very successful time for the Volleyball Male Team of the Bilingual
School of the University El Bosque. In the frst half of the year, they won the
ASOCOLDEP tournament (Asociacin Colombiana de Establecimientos Educa-
tivos Privados), and they also were champions of the Second Volleyball Parade orga-
nized by the Bilingual School. In the second half, the team fnished in third place in the
tournament of the Colegio Agustiniano Norte, largely, because the core of the team was
graduated by this time. This year we have a good female team and we hope the Female
Team has also a remarkable participation.

n November the frst of 2013, the Bilingual School of the University El Bosque
celebrated the Sports Day at the University campus. The school teachers played a
soccer match with the students who belong to the soccer team by that time. The

os estudiantes del colegio de la Universidad El Bosque tuvieron la oportunidad de
mostrar su habilidad comunicativa en ingls al igual que sus talentos, durante la semana
anglfona y francfona, que tuvo lugar en la segunda semana de agosto de 2013.
Dentro de las actividades que se lideraron desde el rea de ingls, la comunidad univer-
sitaria pudo apreciar los trabajos de los estudiantes en el museo cinematogrfco y la puesta
en escena de lugares famosos del Reino Unido. La participacin de nuestros estudiantes
se cerr con un show de modas y un gran concierto de rock del grupo White Fantasy de la

Internationalization Week
T
he students of the Bilingual School of the University El Bosque had the opportunity to
show their communicative skills in English as well as their talents during the Anglo-
phone and Francophone week that took place in the second week of August in 2013.
Among those activities that the English area led, the university community could appre-
ciate the students work in the flm museum and the stage of famous places in the United
Kingdom. The participation of our students close with a fashion show and a great rock
concert with the group White Fantasy from Casa de la Cultura in Cha in which one of
our graduate students is part, Enrique Arbelez.

n Thursday 27th of October 2013, the Math Olympics took place at Bilingual
School of the University El Bosque by guests from different schools and students
from our school who with their talent showed us mathematics in a whole different

on la ayuda de CAINSA (Asociacin de Campistas) los estudiante del Colegio
Bilinge de la Universidad El Bosque llevaron a cabo su servicio social estudiantil
obligatorio, durante 2013, en esta oportunidad, con los habitantes del barrio el
Codito, los cuales una situacin socio-econmica difcil y con habitantes de la calle en
Bogot. Dentro de las actividades realizadas, los estudiantes departieron con la comunidad
y llevaron alimentos y productos de aseo. Para los nios de la comunidad El Codito hubo
juguetes, refrigerios y actividades ldicas.

ith the help of CAINSA (Asociacin de Campista), the students of the Bilingual
School of the University El Bosque provided their mandatory social service
during 2013, in this case, with the community of El Codito, a neighborhood
with a diffcult social and economic situation and homeless people in Bogot. Among the
activities done, students departed with the community and brought them food and cleaning

iempre llega un momento en el cual
sabes que dars un gran paso, incluso
desde nios, cuando aprendes a
correr o a saltar, tus primeras palabras,
incluso cuando aprendes las vocales. En mi
caso, el gran paso a dar, es el de paso a la
vida universitaria, prepararme a afrontar el
mundo y aprender a valerme por mi mismo.
En esta etapa de la vida, las personas se
preguntan Qu debo estudiar?, Si me
pagarn bien por esto? o Ser que si me
voy al exterior, me ir mejor?, pero yo slo
tengo una pregunta, En serio estoy prepa-
rado para esto?, es decir, estoy a punto de
lanzarme a un vaco el cual me brindar la
oportunidad de desempearme en un campo
como el mejor y el ms competente, adems
que ser el campo que me apasiona y me
generar ingresos para subsistir.
Ha llegado mi momento de brillar,
conocer ms del mundo y expandir mis hori-
zontes una vez ms, este es el momento en
que todos nos golpeamos de cabeza contra

Here I come!
T
here comes a time when you know
that you will take a great step,
even from childhood, when you
learn to run or jump, your frst words, even
when you learn the vowels. In my case, the
great step forward is to move from school
life to college life, ready to face the world
and learn to fend for myself.
At this stage of life, people ask themselves
What should I do? or Do I have any chance
of success? But I only have one question:
Am I ready for this?, I mean , Im about to
launch into a void which would provide me
the opportunity to develop myself in a feld
as the best and the most competent, well,
that will be the feld that will give me a job
and an income to survive.
My time to shine has come, to show
myself to the world and expand my hori-
zons once again, this is the time when all
of us hit ourselves against reality, and
learn that everything at school we were
taught, somehow at least, will provided us a
guidance for life and all that stuff, giving us
guidelines to be competent, responsible and
especially to help us discover our passions
and exploit them to the fullest.
Its almost time to leave school and take this
great step, so I only have one more thing to
say: College, Here I come!

here are educational, didactic and
creative tools much better than scis-
sors and glue. However, the cheat
and laziness culture that has been built in
the world, always looking for consecutive
results, has given them a high popularity
level in many unsuspicious felds, as in the
remake and copying of songs, movies, plays,
designs, etc., and the worst part is the manner
in which the author is not concerned about
the copy, falling in the known plagiarism.
In order to avoid the problem mentioned
above, it has emerged a variety of laws, of
course, causing the most diverse opinions
about it, from unconditional support by
capitalists that appropriate themselves with
rights in order to explode contents merci-
lessly, until rejection not only from those
who want to use what is not theirs without
consequences but also from those creators of
the content that could be copied, like Mark
Twain, arguing that not even God could fnd
sense to those laws.
That should be the same in the plagia-
rism case, in the copy/paste case; the ideal
would be that individuals could recognize
the importance of someone elses content,

this way, an authentic life could be achieved, because it requires recognizing oneself as
equally able, skillful, thinker as the other. Doing the opposite lead us to live on a crazy
and alienated patchwork quilt.

xisten herramientas pedaggicas,
didcticas y de creacin muchsimo
mejores que las tijeras y el pega-
mento, sin embargo la cultura de la trampa y
el facilismo que se ha construido en el mundo,
siempre en pos de la consecucin de resul-
tados, les ha dado a stas un altsimo nivel
de popularidad en muchos ms campos de lo
que se sospecha, muestra de ello, es la manera
como se copian y rehacen canciones, pel-
culas, obras de arte, diseos, etc., y lo peor,
es la manera como en muchos de los casos en
los que se presenta esto, la copia se realiza sin
ningn tipo de autorizacin del autor, incu-
rriendo as en el tan mentado plagio.
De cara a evitar lo anterior ha surgido
una variedad de leyes, que por supuesto han
suscitado diversas opiniones sobre el asunto, desde el apoyo incondicional propio de capi-
talistas que se hacen dueos de dichos derechos para explotarlos inmisericordemente, hasta
el repudio no slo de los extraos que anhelan usar lo ajeno sin consecuencias, sino incluso
de los propios creadores de lo que ha de ser plagiado, como es el caso de Mark Twain, quien
afrmaba que ni Dios podra encontrarle sentido a dichas leyes.
Debera ser igual en el caso del plagio, del copy/paste; lo ideal sera poder imprimir en
los individuos, en todos, la importancia del reconocimiento de lo hecho por el otro, porque a
la larga el tomar las palabras no propias como propias, no es el problema, pues bien podra
ser hecho a partir de recursos open source, trabajos colaborativos o copyleft, el problema
es pasar por encima de la voluntad del otro y apropiarse de lo que no est catalogado como
tal. El plagio, en ltima instancia, se fundamenta en la utilizacin de lo ajeno sin permiso
de aquella persona a quien pertenece, y el cambio de mentalidad que se est pidiendo en
este caso no es en realidad el de respetar la voluntad ajena sin ms, sino el reconocimiento
de que dicha voluntad merece tanto respeto como la nuestra, y si nosotros como individuos
determinamos si lo que hacemos ha de ser o no un recurso abierto para los dems, con o sin
el reconocimiento de nuestra autora, es preciso que entendamos que el otro tambin tiene
el derecho de realizar dicha deliberacin, tomar una decisin a partir de ella y ser respetado.
Citar no es difcil, es una cuestin de prctica y tan slo toma una lnea con los datos del
lugar de donde se han tomado las cosas, un parntesis con tres datos bsicos, o por lo menos
un par de comillas o la utilizacin de la cursiva, como para que al menos se sospeche algo.
Reconocer que el otro ha dicho cosas que considero verdaderas o acertadas, que no soy
capaz de inventarlo todo y que los dems tienen capacidades iguales o superiores a las mas
no es malo, por el contrario, slo as se logra vivir una vida autntica, pues implica recono-
cerse a s mismo como igual al otro, capaz, hbil, pensante. Hacer lo contrario conduce a
vivir una colcha de retazos ms o menos agradables, pero ninguno realmente nuestro.
