ASSIGNMENT
You are to research, prepare and present work that focuses on printmaking from 1950 onwards. This work could be presented in one of the following
formats:
Create a Power Point presentation on your chosen printmaker and their prints.
Produce a Poster on your chosen printmaker and their prints.
Write an Essay on your chosen printmaker and the prints.
Negotiate a piece of work with your teacher.
When researching your chosen Printmaker and their prints the following must be included in your research:
1. Name of the Printmaker.
2. Five facts about the artists life: birth, death, important moments in their career, influences, etc.
3. A colour picture of the print you have chosen.
4. Title of the print.
5. Size of the print.
6. Date the print was made.
7. Type of print (etching, woodcut, lithograph, etc).
8. What materials did the artist use to create the type of print? (Refer to the first section in this assignment)
9. Describe your chosen print in detail. What do you see in the print? (You must write in complete sentences.)
10. In full sentences how has the artist used the elements of art in the print:
Line? (thick, thin, expressive, hard edge, blurred, interrupted, parallel, etc?)
Colour? (primary, secondary, flat, modelled, warm, cool, pastel, monotone, harmonious, deep, etc?)
Shape? (two dimensional, three dimensional, circular, oval, triangular, square, positive, negative, etc?)
Texture? (rough, smooth, soft, wet, gooey, rusty, prickly, flat, sandy, velvety, etc?)

commercial, etc?)
12.What story was the artist trying to tell with this print?
13. What is your opinion of this print? Do you like/dislike the print and why? Explain your answer in at least 3 sentences.

14. Include two more prints by the same artist with their titles and date printed.
