Kodaly Method

The Kodaly Method is an approach to music education developed in Hungary during


the mid 20
th
century by Zoltan Kodaly. This method is a way of developing musical
skills and teaching musical concepts beginning in very young children . This method
includes folk song, movable do etc.


Orff Method

This method teaches children about music that engages the mind and body through
a mixture of singing, dancing, acting and the use of percussion instruments. This
method was created by German composer Carl orff.

Dalcroze Method

The Dalcroze method teaches concepts of rhythm and structure, and musical
expression through movement. I have personally seen during my observation hours
a heavy influence of the Dalcroze method. Music Educators use to foster music
appreciation, ear training and improve while improving musical abilities.


Gordon Method

Method created by Edwin E. Gordon. It is one of a number of theoretical models of
music learning. It is a specific model of how students learn music and how it should
be taught. This method focuses heavily on the concept of audiation which is an
important aural skill because it means you can hear the music in your head.
