I. Objectives What is the main focus of this lesson? The main focus of this lesson is to do physical activity and to show the students that physical activity can be fun. How does this lesson tie in to a unit plan? (If applicable.) This is the last lesson on physical activity and it wraps up the unit through experiencing physical activity What are your objectives for this lesson? (As many as needed.) Indicate connections to applicable national or state standards. If an objective applies to only certain students write the name(s) of the student(s) to whom it applies. 1) The children will participate regularly in physical activity 2) The children will achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical fitness. 3) The children will exhibit responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and others in physical activity.
II. Before you start Prerequisite knowledge and skills.
What is physical activity? What are some ways we can get physical activity? And why physical activity is good for our bodies? Assessment (formative and summative)
Formative: as students are participating in each activity: encourage students, make sure that they are participating in a safe manner: tell students that safety is important. Summative is a journal entry telling my what they have learned about physical activity, and what their favorite part was and their favorite physical activity. Identify those students (individuals or groups) in your class who will need special attention and describe the level of support you plan on giving them. Refer back to the survey you did of your class. Some of my students may struggle with all the activities, so making sure that all students can participate in some manner. Materials-what materials (books, handouts, etc) do you need for this lesson and do you have them?

Lots of open space to move around, perhaps go to the gym if possible

30 min Development Explain that today we are going to experience many different kinds of physical activity: jumping jacks, , catch, tag: line tag, freeze tag, dead ant tag.
10 min Closure
Return to the classroom and ask students to reflect on what they learned about physical activity, and what they enjoyed most, and what they are planning on doing to maintain physical activity in their life. Your reflection on the lesson including ideas for improvement for next time:
