This abuse was focused primarily on the female gender.( Harbinder Singh Kalsi, Advocate )Domestic violence occurs more in countries such as Egypt, Zambia and India than any other country. Because these women believe that male police officers will not take this crime seriously due to the lack of women reinforcement, therefore women from these countries are afraid to speak of such occurrences.

P.2 Domestic violence has doubled within the years. Due to lack of enforcement from the authorities this crime has not been taken seriously until recently. The government of El Paso has taken action by publicly announcing the seriousness of the crime. Some of these victims did not know the warning signs to look for in the perpetrators and as a result a fatal crime occurred. Now there are guidelines for the victims provided by CAFV( Center Against Family Violence)( cafv.org/), so the victim can realize the danger of the relationship if it is abusive. The City of El Paso also provides emergency shelters for battered women along with a 24 hour hotline for the victims to be able to reach out for help. El Paso decided not only to reach out to the victims but also to the families of the victims through a project known as Injustice for Walk .This walk takes care of victims and their families by raising awareness through the community. Together with the government and the community it will provide a good foundation for El Paso and a supportive system for victims. .
