Two important items from the doctrine of prayer;
1. why should we pray? a. it is God's will: we should give Him glory with our prayer, that He alone is the giver of every good thing, and should take our refuge in Him in all our requests; b. God has promised He will hear us; this promise is gracious and rich 1 ; c. our multiple great distresses should urge us to pray without ceasing 2 ;
2. how should we pray? a. in the name of Jesus, b. as dear children, boldly and with all confidence. 3
