What did we learn?

You dont really understand what the teacher wants and what are the expectations is one
of Ins top 3 problems. Takin into account that this has been mentioned some times before!
we could think about interatin a detailed description box when the teacher uploads the
assinment or e"en a room for easier student#teacher interaction.
$s many other %ni"ersity students inter"iewed! Ins feels our platform should be interated
in an existin one & she feels the competition is already satisfyin. 'oreo"er! she is a hea"y
(acebook user! so she sees as an ad"antae bein already there & no extra platform she has
to check. $t this point! it is becomin clear that we ha"e to test if interation would indeed
create reater "alue to our taret.
In her perspecti"e it is mandatory to be free. )or her! nor any other student will pay for
somethin that already exists in other platforms. $lthouh this would not be our ma*or
+e"enue ,tream we should test this hypothesis further! namely usin sur"eys -so we can
ha"e a reater number of responses. and landin paes -will people click in our premium
"ersion/..

(rom this inter"iew with a person studyin in a different field! we can see that he uses less
the different platforms as (acebook! 0oole 1ri"e! etc. 0lobally he has less teamworks than
the business students! so he feels less concerned. Thouh! he would not mind ha"in a more
con"enient platform exclusi"ely for teamworks! because he doesnt like to be on (acebook
for personal usin. 2e would e"en be willin to pay it the platform is really worth it. 3"en if
he is less concerned with teamworks because he doesnt ha"e so many! he still encounters
the same problems as most business students which are the files manaement! the different
tools to combine and the difficulty to find a place to meet.

0lobally! this student does not feel "ery frustrated with teamwork communication. ,he
althouh acknowledes that (acebook is not "ery con"enient because it is too distracti"e.
,he also identifies as a problem the files manaement as most of the other students. ,he
identified a solution that tarets companies! and from which we could be inspired. It is called
4nowledepla5a! and it combines social interaction of the employees and file sharin. 6e
should explore this solution! to see if can find somethin interestin that we could adapt for
the students.

3steban is an international student at 7at8lica 9isbon who has different teams in his master
courses. 2e considers that team works at his school are not well orani5ed! that there are not
enouh uideless reardin how the work should be manaed -rules and plannin. and as
well amon members he sees people ha"e different expectations and in"ol"ements. 3steban
uses se"eral platforms such as (acebook! Turnitin! e#mail! cloud and 2ackpad. 'ostly! he
dislikes (acebook because of the difficult discussion trackin and the difficulties when
uploadin files.
2e would really appreciate a team workin platform that interates with the uni"ersity and
that implements pro*ect manaement functionalities. 2e says he would be willin to pay :
euros for the platform. (inally! he recommend us to focus in the users and not in the
institutions because he sees them as a touh market since they already ha"e platforms in
which they ha"e in"ested important amounts of time and money! besides the information
system manaer are not enouh competent and the uni"ersities are really focused on
security and pri"acy issues. 2e thinks youn people are more oriented towards technoloy
and a ood marketed and friendly tool he does not see why people wont buy it. 2e thinks
teachers should suest to the students such a tool as well.

'aria was rather emotional reardin teamwork. Thins either really made her happy or
really upset. This means teamwork # its success or failure & actually has impact on a students
mood and o"erall feelins. Therefore! our platform really speaks to a problem which is
important and meaninful for students & it is important to show %ni"ersities this.
Interestin enouh! many students appreciate (acebook because it re;uires other students
to respond -they cant really be postin their personal thins while inorin the roup work &
e"eryone can see it<.. 2owe"er! 'aria also speaks on the other side of the e;uation & she
doesnt like other students to know she saw the post! sometimes she doesnt want to
respond or comment on it at that time= ,o! what is more important to students & makin
other members comply or bein free to respond when they want to/
(urther! 'aria suested that our platform could be more eneric. 'eanin that instead of
interatin with %ni"ersities and focusin only on %ni"ersity ,tudents! we could de"elop
somethin which could tackle a reater audience.
(inally! it should be a free application! since there are already plenty of thins with it.

,ora is an international student at $udencia ,chool who reconi5es she has different teams in
her master courses. ,he considers as problems related to team works the followin> normally
there are too many people in the teams! members ha"e not the same le"el of in"ol"ement
and interest! ettin distracted by notifications on (acebook and the delay to answers
messaes and i"e feedback to the posts. ,ora only uses (acebook roups to interact with
her teams. ,he is not really satisfied about (acebook because since it was desined as a social
network you can easily et distracted! e"en thouh she considers it is con"enient considerin
most of the people has created profiles.
+eardin the perfect solution! she says she would like that the platform pro"ides her with
notifications and ha"in as well the correspondent $pp in her mobile de"ices. ,he says she
would be willin to pay a year fee of : euros for chat with easy trackin! file sharin! a task
allocation tool and the schedulin feature. (inally! she suest that our platform should ha"e
esthetical customi5ation! for instance! bein able to chane the colors! chane the back part!
and chane where the different tools are located.

+ui raised a special concern reardin findin roups. In 7at8lica the students keep chanin
all the time and you usually find yourself in a class where you "irtually dont know anyone &
more! 'oodles photos are not always a"ailable so you dont really know who is who. In the
end! it is a drama to find a nice roup with whom you can smoothly work with for e"ery class.
Takin this into account! he emphasi5ed numerous times how important would be for him to
ha"e a place where he could easily see which students had or didnt ha"e roups & (ind
people and ,tudent profile were on the top ? features.
+ui feels that in teamwork he doesnt ha"e much autonomy and the ultimate outcome not
always turns out as he wants. Therefore! besides file sharin and all#in#one platform! peer
re"iew would be incorporated in +uis perfect solution. 2e ideali5es an impro"ement from
6ords +e"iew section! where one could comment and constantly re"iew each members
part. This should be considered as a feature to incorporate in our platform.
(inally! this student suested that our platform should re;uire as minimal effort as possible
from the students & e"erythin should be toether in one place! interconnected & and it
should definitely be free.
(inally! @itor is willin to pay AB yearly for his C most important features.

Duliette is from Earis! (rance and is doin an 3rasmus proram in 9isbon at )o"a with her
home uni"ersity which is 3,7 Toulouse! a business school. ,he has a lot of team works to
dri"e in her marketin career. ,he is not "ery frustrated about how are team work oin but
said she ot tired of brainstormin in some roups because you are meetin for hours and
didnt do a lot. ,o then! splittin up appear as the best solution to make an efficient *ob and
then share it on dropbox or the facebook roup.
2owe"er it depends on the kind of content you ha"e because when she was doin financial
pro*ects! workin on facebook with excel docs was "ery confusin. ,he exclusi"ely uses
facebook to run the team work. ,ometimes! on 'oodle she checks names of students to find
and add them afterwards on (acebook. ,he doesnt like to use 'oodle because accordin to
her! its a "ery not nice interface and she prefers to use facebook which is more user#friendly.
Elus! she doesnt use dropbox folder> she doesnt like to switch from a platform to another.
Its sometimes botherin to et notifications all the time from friends and team members but
its impossible to escape from that.
$ccordin to the price! she wouldnt pay. 3"en if she has some roup works she is not so
in"ol"ed into her teamworks and doesnt ha"e "ery hih expectations. ,o facebook is free
and enouh ood to do the work properly.

9aurine is currently doin an internship in Earis! (rance for ? months in a 2uman +esources
department of an ')7 then! she will be back to school to finish her last semester of master
which speciali5ation refers to 'anaement. ,he studied abroad! at 9a"al %ni"ersity for one
year doin an exchane proram with her home uni"ersity. There she has to manae to
teamwork with people from different backrounds! different perspecti"es! and different way
of thinkin. ,he defined herself as a "ery orani5ed irl and she really en*oys when work is
oin fast and well. 6hen dealin with roup pro*ects! she was mainly frustrated by the
slowness. Ff course! she finds interestin to manae people but she is really lookin forward
tools to make efficiency oin up. ,he was annoyed by people arri"in late for teamwork
while it was planned at a specific time> we ha"e been losin a lot of time *ust because we
misunderstood the day or the hour! it was ne"er clear. (or this reason! she would be willin
to pay for a reminder! a schedulin calendar and a task allocation. )ot a lot of money for
sure. Getween A or : B maybe. 2owe"er! she also mentioned the idea that it takes many
time to enae yourself in payin for a ser"ice online> it miht take months and months -that
was happened to her when she finally subscribed to the premium spotify account..
,he uses (acebook both for teamwork and fun and e"en if its clearly not the perfect solution
she pointed out the file manaement has been impro"ed a bit thanks to the button upload
new "ersion. Its also con"enient to ha"e the 1ropbox linked with the (acebook.
