IMPLICATIONS TO MIDWIFERY PRACTICE

In teen pregnancy, nutrition is poor resulting in low birth weight babies in teen mothers.
This may result into poor survival of the babies as they require maximum care from the
mothers which they may not be able to provide as they lack the knowledge and skills.
Also this may lead to extended hospitalization as both the baby and mother may require
observations.
mothers give birth to babies whose birth weight is more than 2.5 kg and this may result
into complications to the mother such as tears and fistulas since they are not well
developed to accommodate normal delivery.
