Right Triangles

Who Was Pythagoras?

Pythagoras was an ancient Greek
mathematician. He was born in 569 BC,
Samos Greece, and died in 475 BC,
Metapontum Italy. He came up with the
Pythagorean Theorem. The Pythagorean
Theorem is a theorem in geometry that
states, in a right triangle, that a2+b2=c2.
He also discovered that the sum of the
angles of a triangle is equal to 180. One
more thing that he discovered is
geometrical algebra.

Pythagorean Theorem
It states that, in a right triangle, side a
(squared), plus side b (squared), equals
the hypotenuse (side c, squared of
course).
