In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, made in the late 1500s, there was many
tragedies, such as two young lovers, Romeo and Juliet, committing suicide. The factors that caused their
death are themselves and others around them. In William Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet, the young
lovers, the family feud, and the sequence of events contribute to the deaths of the two young lovers.
Romeo and Juliet are the main reason of their own deaths. Romeo and Juliet killed themselves
therefor being the reasons of their deaths. Oh happy dagger! This is thy sheath; there rust, and let me
die is said by Juliet (act 5 scene 3 pg. 1098). This is what she said directly before she killed herself. If she
stabbed herself, does that not mean she is the reason of her deaths? If Romeo and Juliet did not kill
themselves they would not have died.
The sequence of events went in a perfect order for them to kill themselves. For example, in the
end Romeo came to the Capulet tomb just moments too early. Sealed up the doors, and would not let
us forth, so my speed to Mantua there was stayed (act 5 scene 2 pg. 1090). This was Friar John saying
how the Mantua guards wouldnt let him through. If this didnt happen, Romeo would have known the
plan of Juliets fake death, instead of killing himself over her.
The family feud made it hard for Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliets families did not like each
other and they knew their parents wouldnt approve of their love. My only love, sprung from my only
hate (act 1 scene 5 pg. 1018). Juliet said this after she found out her love, Romeo, is from the
Montague family, her families hate. In her quote she knows that she will have a hard time moving
Romeo.
Romeo and Juliets death can be blamed on many things but if Romeo and Juliet had not killed
themselves they would not have died. Also, if the sequence of events didnt happen how they did,
Romeo and Juliet would never have met. Finally, the families didnt like each other, making Romeo and
Juliet not come out about their love. This was very hard and difficult making them take the easy way
out. In Romeo and Juliet, the young lovers, sequence of events, and the family feud were the reason
of Romeo and Juliets deaths.
