Did you know that "organic fruits and vegetables contain up to 40% more antioxidants than

conventional produce; organic milk from pasture raised cows contains up to 90% more
antioxidants than non-organic milk." ("Facts About Organic Foods.") This statistic has caused
the debate, is organic food better than non organic food. Advocates of organic food is better
state that organic food is expensive, it is not necessarily better for you, and lastly organic food is
no safer by conventional means. However, those opposed that organic food is better state that;
a lot of effort goes into this process, it is healthier for humans, lastly organic food is better for the
environment.

Those in favor of organic food is better for you claim that organic food is well cared for and take
a lot of effort and time. Advocates of organic food is better for you emphasize the fact that
organic food is expensive, "organic products typically cost 20 percent to 100 percent more than
their conventionally produced equivalents." ("10 Reasons Organic Food Is so Expensive.")
While organic foods are expensive they are go through a long process of growth to guarantee
good results. "Organic farmers have to hire more workers for tasks like hand-weeding, cleanup
of polluted water, and the remediation of pesticide contamination." This empathizes that it is a
long process and hard work for farmers to produce plants without the pesticides and chemicals.
"Sewage sludge and chemical fertilizers might not be something you want in your food, but
conventional farmers use them because they dont cost much and are cheap to transport.
Organic farmers eschew these inexpensive solutions in order to keep their crops natural and
instead use compost and animal manure, which is more expensive to ship." This states that
quote on quote "more expensive to ship" so they have to pay a lot of money to transport items
for the crops. "Higher standards for animal welfare also means more costs for organic farms.
According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, organic feed for cattle
and other livestock can cost twice as much as conventional feed." This means that not only do
plants need to be takes care of; animals need to be taken care of to produce organic items
(milk, cheese, yogurt, etc.) ("10 Reasons Organic Food Is so Expensive."). Opponents ground
stated that organic food cost more money. However, I have clearly disprove their claim because
it takes a lot of time and effort for organic food to be processed. It takes work, and money for the
farmers. Not only is organic food well taken care of (throughout growth) it is healthier for
humans.

Those in favor of organic food is better for you claim that organic for it healthier for humans.
Advocates of organic food is better for you state that organic food is no safer by conventional
means."United States Department of Agriculture makes no claims that organic farming methods
produce safer foods with higher nutritional value compared with conventionally produced foods."
("Advantages & Disadvantages of Organic Foods.") While organic food is no safer than
conventional foods "organic food provides considerably greater amounts of essential nutrients
which play the key role in human health." ("Organic Food.") This states that organic food
provides more nutrients that your body needs. "Organic standards prohibit the use of synthetic
pesticides, exposure to which has been linked with a number of serious human diseases. US
government regulations allow such pesticides, although setting limits for application rates in the
field and residue levels on food." This means that organic products do not use pesticides that
can cause diseases, therefore organic food are safer. "Organic standards require that animals
be fed appropriately and prohibit practices such as feeding animal products from rendering
plants. US government regulations allow rendered animal products to be fed to cattle, sheep
and other herbivores as a protein supplement. This practice has been associated with outbreaks
of "Mad Cow Disease". ("NOFA/Mass: Northeast Organic Farming Association.") Cows, sheep,
chickens, etc. are monitored very strictly to meet the organic standards so customers do not get
diseases, such as "Mad Cow Disease". I have clearly disproved the advocates claim that
organic food is no safer than conventional means. I have clearly disproved it because, organic
food does not contain harmful items that may cause serious diseases to customers bodies. Not
only is organic food safer for humans, but it is very good for the environment.

Those in favor of organic food is better for you claim that, organic food is better for the
environment. Advocates of organic food is better for you emphasize that fact that organic food is
no safer than conventional means. "Organic foods are not nutritionally superior to conventional
foods, neither are they safer regarding bacterial contamination." While organic food is no safer
than conventional means, organic food is better for the environment. "Organic farming is
friendlier to the environment; therefore on organic farms you are likely to find a greater diversity
of plants (not including the organic food itself) and animals." ("The Pros and Cons of Organic
Food.") This establishes te point that; quote on quote "friendlier to the environment", so you will
find greater conditions for the plants, and animals. "Organic farming protects the environment by
removing chemicals and other artificial farming methods from the equation; it saves soil and
water and reduces pollution. Organic farmers use humane methods for producing meat, eggs
and other animal products. For those concerned with the environment or the methods used to
raise the animals they eat, the extra cost they pay for organic products buys peace of mind."
("Advantages & Disadvantages of Organic Foods.") This means that organic foods are chemical
free and does not cause pollutions, therefore better for the environment and the animals on the
farm. "Since organic food production strictly forbids the use of hazardous chemicals, there is no
risk of soil or water contamination which does not just affect the population living nearby
conventional farms but wider areas as well considering that groundwater accounts for 80% of
the drinking water in some parts of Southern England." ("Organic Food.") I have clearly
disproved there ground because organic food is actually safer/better for the environment.

Oppositions of organic food is better for humans claim that organic food is well taken care of
therefore it is safer, it is healthier for humans, lastly organic food is better for the environment.
Advocates claim that organic food is more expensive, it is not better for you, and lastly organic
food is no safer by conventional means. Organic food overall is better for you, it's up to you take
care of your body and make wise descision for it. I leave you with something my mother always
says "you have only one body, so take care of it; because you aren't going to get another one."
