2. Plenary card activity: making a statement (15 mins)
Ask the class to come up with 2 statements in 1 minute about what they have learned in this unit so far; then ask individual students what one
of their statements is, and how they came up with it. Put these statements on the board and ask for comments from other students
3. Australian values (20 mins)
Explain the official Australian values to the students from the Life in Australia booklet. Have students copy in the values and discuss what they
think they mean co-construct definitions for each value, with guidance from the booklet terminology. Consider:
What does this value tell you about life in Australia?
Can anyone give a personal experience that relates?
Where did this value come from?
4. Close passage activity on Australian values from HSC Online (10 mins)

CLOSURE Plenary activity: Pictionary. Student to draw a key word from the lesson on the board and others to guess (5 mins)
