LESSON PLAN: Skip counting by 3, Multiplication with Touch Point Math

OBJECTIVE. What will your students will be able to do by the end of class?

* Students will be able to skip count by 3 up to 30.
* Students will be able to utilize touch point math and skip count by 3 while touching the points to multiply
one digit by one digit 3x multiplication problems.

OPENING. MATERIALS.
The teacher will explain that when we skip count by 3, we add 3. The teacher will
have students get into groups of three. The teacher will then have children walk
across the room in their groups of three while skip counting by 3s.

INTRODUCTION OF NEW MATERIAL.
The teacher will use a number line on the board to show how to jump by three. The
teacher will use 3 x 5= to show how we jump by three five times on the number line.
GUIDED PRACTICE.
