What is vSphere Data Protection (VDP) Advanced?
VDP Advanced is VMwares simple backup and recovery solution
for vSphere. VDP Advanced extends the capabilities of VDP,
which is already included in vSphere.
VDP Advanced is a virtual appliance that provides agent-less,
image-level backups to disk but it also has agents for Microsoft SQL
and Exchange, allowing greater backup and recovery granularity.
VDP Advanced supports 4 times more VMs per appliance than VDP.
