Lesson plan seven

Analyzing picture and posters


(Tuesday 2
nd
week)

Objectives: Students will analyze different posters use during the G.D.
They will also assess the pictures taken during G.D. Students will create
posters and pictures of their New Deal program. They will explain what
their posters represent.

Teacher preparation/ Instruction Students activities/ Assignments
Step 1: Teacher will instruct one
student from each group to get the
groups iPads.

Step 2: Teacher will have sent
students the questions for their
posters and pictures. Teacher will
instruct the kids to download the
Google doc question sheet.

a. Teacher will give them five
minutes to do this. Teacher will
ask students to raise their hands
if they are done. Teacher will
help students who are having
trouble.
b. Teacher will instruct students
to search for pictures and
poster on the library of
congress

will gather the iPads.

Step 2: Students will log on to
their Google accounts and
download the question sheet.
Students will search for
pictures and poster on the
Library of Congress website

Step 3: Students will answer the
questions on the Google doc. They
answer the questions for the pictures
and posters they choose. They will
also help each other and work
together.

Step 4: In their groups students will
start taking notes and brainstorming
on their poster.

Step 5: When students get done with
students when they analyze the
pictures and posters. It will
help them critique, assess and
analyze.

Step 3: Teacher will instruct the
class to answer questions
individually but they can help each
other or work on the same
pictures/poster.

a. As students are working teacher
will visit each group for few minutes
to ask them questions about their
pictures. This will help teacher
assess if students are reading into the
pictures and looking beyond.

Step 4: Teacher will have the
students get on the paper app and
brainstorm ideas for their group New
Deal program.

Step 5: For the last five minutes
teacher will have students turn in
their question sheet by email.
