Lesson plan nine

Great Depression Poems


(Thursday 2
nd
week)

Objectives: Students will analyze and assess the Great Depression poem.
Students will also identify and concluded the meaning of the poem. They
will compose a poem on either the G.D. or N.D. as if they live through the
G.D.

Step 1: In the beginning of class
as the students are coming in the
teacher will stand by the
entrance. Teacher will instruct
students to get in their groups.

Step 2 Teacher will instruct
groups to send on person of
their group to get the iPads.

Step 3: As students are getting
ipads teacher will take role.
Teacher will instruct students to
download the questions to help
them analyze the poem.

Step 4: Teacher will give
students the option to use the
RQ code or go copy the URL.
The name of the poem is The
Magpie by Robert S. Warshow

Step 5: As a group they will
answer the questions but they
will work on their question
sheet individually. I will meet
Step 1: Students will listen to the
teachers instruction as they walk into the
classroom. Students will get to groups.

Step 2: a student from the groups will get
the iPads and pass them out to group.

Step 3: Students will sign into their
Google accounts and on to their Google
doc download the questions to help them
analyze the poem.

copying the URL or QR code

with each group to asses how
they are doing.

Step 6: Teacher will bring the
class and will discuss the poem
with the class. Students will
email their poem question sheets
to email.
