Evaluation/Comments
Ms. Kennedy has successfully completed the responsibilities for certification as a classroom teacher.
Ms. Kennedy greets students with a smile and a warm, caring manner. She demonstrates excellent subject
matter knowledge and an ability to organize and present information in a meaningful way. She is supportive to
students and provides a climate where they may succeed. er written and verbal communication skills are good.
She minimizes administrative tasks of distributing papers and taking attendance. She uses the technology of
interactive whiteboard, laptop, digital projector, !ower!oint presentations, and provides students with
individual white"boards to check their understanding. She asks many #uestions, accepting student responses
from those who participate freely without being called upon and provides appropriate wait time. She describes
the se#uence of experiences that will occur in the lesson at the beginning of the session. She implements smooth
transitions. She uses scientific terminology appropriately and includes laboratory exercises and small group
activities. She circulates among student teams responding to their #uestions by guiding their thinking through a
teacher #uestion, student response se#uence. She provides homework assignments to support classroom
learning.
Ms. Kennedy continues to be sensitive to suggestions to develop the skills of planning and implementing$ a
complete instructional cycle at each session% the lessons& objective's( verbally, the relevance of topics to the
interests of students% closure that includes a lesson summary and formative assessment% overtly timed activity
periods to insure that all portions of the instructional cycle are completed% and conversation with students who
do not normally verbalize during lessons.
