Lifeline Update
The switch to Quick Books has been made!

2014 has been full of excitement in Lifeline thus far!

With the hospital transitioning to a new billing system, we discovered the
need for Lifeline to begin using a separate billing software. In early 2013,
Edna and I began the initial process of transitioning our billing from Louis-
ville to an in house system using QuickBooks. I am pleased to announce
that as of February, we are officially using QuickBooks to do our Lifeline bill-
ing. The response has been overwhelmingly positive from our subscribers.

Many thanks to Edna, Don, Lisa and our amazing volunteers who have held
down the fort and allowed Edna and me to focus primarily on this transition!

Coming soon! The ability to pay Lifeline bills by using automatic payments
from checking accounts and credit cards. Also coming soon is the much an-
ticipated launch of GoSafe Lifeline - the 'go anywhere' medical alert pendant. Stay tuned!
Valentines Day in
Outpatient Infusion!

One of the newest areas to use Vol-
unteers to benefit the patient experi-
ence is Outpatient Infusion.
At the direction of Betty Simms in
Outpatient Oncology Infusion, some
of our Volunteers made the day
special with homemade goodies to
share with patients and their fami-
lies. Volunteers pictured include
Lonnie Watts and Bob and Diane
Stanko.

A big thank you to all!
Connections
Program
Begins
at
Baptist Health
Lexington

Thanks to the time devoted by Bridget Starr, Angela Brown, and J ohn Walker, the Connections Program
launched on February 18, 2014. These students are currently volunteering in surgery, mother/baby, labor and
delivery, ICU, bio-medical engineering, emergency room, pharmacy, radiology, speech language pathology and
home health. Because the program is designed to involve so many students from various schools, Angela
Brown, employed by Fayette County Public Schools, is assigned to the hospital full time. If you see any of
these students, or Angela, in the Volunteer Workroom, hallways, or cafeteria, please welcome them!
